Hi guys, new to forum and was hoping I could get some advice or opinions.
I currently have a black 2014 e350 and looking into upgrading to a 2015 s550. Narrowed down exterior to white diamond, but a little torn on interior.
The nutbrown interior with burl trim or silk beige with same wood.
Not sure if the nutbrown would get old after a while and regret not going with something more simple..plus not sure how I feel about the black carpeting on the nut brown.
Side note - dealer has a white one with a silk beige /espresso with the black poplar trim for a good discount, roughly 14% off msrp to get rid of last few 2015 they have in preparation for 2016. I've never seen this combo in person and dealer is not local so I've seen pics but not sure how black trim would go against light seats.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Both of these interiors are very nice, but completely opposite feelings. I've seen both in person and really like both.
If you look at my car, my choice would be obvious, but this is all personal taste and preference. By the way, my color is not nut brown, its a custom color. Nut brown is lighter than my car, but still very nice.
The silk beige would look very monotone with the exterior color, and very sleek, while the nut brown would have a great contrast. Like I said, completely different looks, but both very nice.
The black trim looks really good with the silk beige. It pops and gives a great accent.
Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for the reply. Agreed it really come down to personal choice, and two different looks. Silk beige is definitely safer imo, and classy clean look.
Looking for pics online of silk beige on black poplar, doesn't seem like that is a popular color combo, probably why such a big discount is being offered as well.

I am pretty sure they are not discounting the car because of the black popular trim. Personally, I would avoid the burl, if possible. For me, it is way too common, and its been around for decades.
In my opinion, most offer the burl because it is safer, but the black, in many cases, is nicer.
All this being said, when looking at the MBUSA configurator, I am not sure I love the black popular trim with the silk beige interior. I am having trouble with the black trim against the brown upper dash. Would have preferred the black trim with a black upper dash, which is what you get with the porcelain interior.
Hmmm...

Agreed lovin..black against that silk doesn't work for me. I have a nut brown interior 2015 that I'm working on. Dealer is sending me pics, few questions for anyone that has this interior or seen it in person.
Is the burl or this trim to much brown going on in the car? And anything "cheap" looking about the two tone with black carpets ad black trim?
Clearly I need to see this in person myself, but curious on your thoughts
Here are a couple of pics I took the day my '16 S550 4matic was unloaded from the truck at the dealer before delivery showing the Silk Beige/Espresso with burl walnut. You may or may not have seen this color combo before but thought I would post an actual pic of my interior. I really like the burl walnut with the beige interior and I really like it in combo with the exterior color of Ruby Black.

I have the silk beige/espresso on a palladium silver car. It really brightens the interior and is rich looking IMO. Not sorry I chose it. It is not easy to keep clean especially the rugs in the footwells because they are also silk beige. I have custom rug floor mats to help with this. Have an all black interior in my E Class because that gets more utilitarian use. Looked at all black when I purchased the S but did not appeal to me. Good luck with your choice.
Thanks for all the replies. I found a 2016 white with nut brown and burl wood grain. Has all the packages I want as well so hopefully dealer will work with me. Doubt it will be nearly as aggressive as a price cut as he offered on 2015, but I'd imagine something can be worked out.
For but brown what is your guys take on burl wood trim vs black poplar

On the nut brown you can go either way on the trim. Both look good.

I have Designo nut brown/black interior with sunburst myrtle optional wood trim.
The Nut Brown interior is not a designo interior. The only designo interiors for the S sedan are the Deep Sea Blue/Silk Beige, Silk Beige/Satin Red Pearl and Silk Beige/Titanium Pearl. What is designo is your Sunburst Myrtle wood trim, which I really like.

You are correct. I have exclusive nappa leather. My intention was to show this combination. When I put my build together, no one at the dealer or headquarters could show me or get me a sample of the combination. Nevertheless I am pleased with my choices.
I too was undecided on what interior...I went last weekend and saw a Black Exterior car with the Porcelain White / Black Interior. I was instantly SOLD !! -- ordered it.
The Porcelain and Black interior with the Black Poplar Exclusive Wood Trim was simply stunning.

Do you have pictures of this combination...I am thinking of this black ext with porcelain/black int combo for my S Class!

This color combination looks the best in my opinion especially with the Ambient lighting at night.
I like all the selected combinations that mercedes brings out in a s-class. As much as people can express their own predilections to you, it does in-deed boil down to what 'you' like. And believe me, you will like hearing from others, what you really like : )
We have the exclusive brown. Does not picture well at all. It's actually very classy. Almost two years now, not bored. Though we are speccing out the new one in a different color both ext and int so that way it seems like a new car lol.
