Dealer spilled oil on my engine

I took my 15 S550 in today for the first oil change and the SA came out and told me the tech spilled oil in my engine bay. They degreased it and he said its common for it to happen?? He is giving me my next service B at no-cost.

I am not happy about the situation.. what would you guys do?

Have them clean it well and take them up on service B

Maybe they can have someone steam clean the engine or at least offer to pay 50% of it if you go that way

Go over to the bar, pour a long stiff drink, lie back in the recliner and bliss out.

After a couple years of road grime in there it won't be noticed.

I'd give them points for being up front about it. How bad does it look? Can you post a photo?

As suggested ask them to clean up that area, steam clean if necessary, and then accept the Service B.

^^ I was just going to say what WEBSRFR said.

It is noble that they were up front about it.

Get it in writing that any problems arising from the front engine compartment will be fixed under warranty no matter when it is.

wait, am I correct in that your suggesting that he have what amounts to a powertrain and front 1/4 of the car warranty because the dealer spilled a bit of oil?

I'm amazed they gave him a b service for free.

I would most certainly entertain the suggestion.

Who knows where the oil went. What it went on - and will do harm to, that will be discovered later.

I think the dealer owed him the service B. It was very nice they offered it without being asked first.

I don't see anything wrong with proposing the idea to the dealer to continue coverage on the area of the oil spill.

He's got a bumper to bumper warranty anyways... What good would an additional warranty do? I'm not knocking you I'm just curious

I meant beyond the expire date of Manufacturer warranty. 4 year 50k miles I believe it expires. So they should tack on an the additional warranty that goes on certified pre-owned up to 100k.

On this one, we'll have to disagree. A little spilled oil doesn't warrant an extended warranty. There is very little on the engine that will be remotely affected by some spilled oil, especially after being degreased.
