2014 Mercedes S550
2014 S550

I have a 2014 S550 with 6,500 miles on it. Whenever I back up the vehicle on an incline, the brakes squeak very loudly. Also, after the car is washed and I gently press on the brakes (while in drive), the brakes freeze, the vehicle vibrates and it feels like it's bottoming out. I have taken the car into the dealer three times for these problems, but they are unable to resolve the issues.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how was it fixed?

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
I have a 2014 E class about same mileage. No problems. What did dealer say actually. Is it he could not duplicate the problem or what? Might be better to go to another dealer

I'm going use a hypothetical guess, and I'm not familiar w/ the specifics of this vehicle:

If you have too much vacuum from the engine to the braking system, it would have some sort of side effect producing what some of the things you're experiencing, brakes locking up.. but on the computer side of it, the ABS system is also instructing operations. I would record on video for proof, both inside the car and outside.

Than find someone who works on other German cars like Rolls and go there, and tell em Mercedes dealerships can't find the problem.

I had a 2014 S550 4matic purchased new in December 2013. I had 16000 miles on it until it was totaled and I purchased a 2016 S550 4matic in September 2015. This is just some initial background.

Your dealer should know the issue since it is very common that the brakes squeak when you backup like metal grinding against metal that people can hear for blocks on the '14 S class.

The brakes could have been replaced under warranty for the first 12 months or 12000 miles.

I had all four brakes replaced under warranty. They changed the type of brake pads and it fixed the problem. Some people also experienced a pulsing in the brakes. In this case some people had the rotors replaced under warranty as well. Once my brake pads were replaced my brake pulsation went away so I did not have my rotors replaced. My '16 S class has the updated brakes and no squeaking issues--and I have 7000 miles on the '16.

Hope this helps since it seems like your dealer is a bit clueless--they should know about this issue.

I've got this problem on my '14 W222 as well. Is there a specific type of warranty that this will be covered on?

I was experiencing a light vibration in the brake pedal, when braking at highway speeds. Dealer replaced front rotors, pads, etc., all under warranty with 15K miles on the car and being about 15 months old.

May I ask how many miles are on your '14? Mine is over 28k and it makes these screeching sounds.
