Inner front tires worn out...?

Hi all,
In my dad's W222, the inner front tires (both) are worn out and the service center is trying to blame it on him, saying he hit something when he did not. They want him to replace both tires at 30k kilometers. What could be the cause of this? I briefly saw online negative camber. Could this be the problem and the service center doesn't want to admit and pay for their mistake? I am going to visit them in 12 hours to negotiate this.

Pictures attached. I know they're not very clear.

it almost look like it was low on air and it was sitting in one place for some time with low air or no air at all.
could be a defective tire/tires.

Air was constantly checked and filled and what you said did not happen. Guess they are defective tires and it's on them but don't want to admit it.

Are those Goodyear EfficientGrip tires? They are infamous of easily damaged by potholes... (see some of the owner reviews from Tire Track below.)

Good point too. Never considered that the manufacturer produces crappy tires. They are Goodyear EfficientGrip runflats, but they are 245/45R19 for the front and quality could be different than what you linked (205/55R16), although I may be wrong. The reviews are appalling!

But it is absurd the service center says my dad hit something (not sure if it is possible to hit something on the inside equally on both tires and cause the same damage?).

From the pictures you're posting it really does look like the tires are damaged. How that damage happened isn't clear, obviously, but it happened a while ago or else the wear wouldn't be there.

Yes, it did happen a while back. My dad said he did not damage it. Maybe it is negative camber? Just want to rule out possible causes of the damage so service center don't throw it on us.

Does look like damage, however 30K is pretty much par for the course with these large cars. I am at about 27k kilo's and I doubt very much whether I will make 30k with my front tyres. Got more or less the same with my A8. One thing that surprised me though is how much quicker the fronts wear than the rear - I would have expected a rear wheel driven car to wear the rears a lot quicker or more or less even compared to the fronts. My rears look fine for another 15k

That damage is representative of an impact injury to the tire carcass.

No amount of camber could produce such a failure.

This is super useful. Thank you for sharing your experience! In my W205 I got 40K km out of the tires. Expected similar mileage on the W222 but turns out I was wrong.

Thanks for your feedback. That is a reasonable impact for such damage when I come to think about it, which the service advisor should have known.
