2014 S550 V2 climate control issue

Quick question- we bought a certified used 2014 S550 V2 form a MB dealer last year. Not sure if it's me or the car but when increasing the fan speed, there is no change in air velocity at all up to 6, it barely comes out at all. Also, there is no heat untill the temp is 78, otherwise it's cold. It says in the manual to keep climate control and AC both on at all times to prevent fogging, not real happy with the whole command setup, we had 3 CLS 550's before this and they were some much easier to operate. Is it just me or should I take the car back to the dealer?

Thanks, agreed on the complicated part, really quite annoying. I'm going to get a anemometer with tempature to measure output and bring readings into dealer as they told me it was functioning normally, which i find highly suspect.

Did you check your cabin filter.... Ya never know how / where it was driven.. Simple check you can do on your own....

Had it changed as well as a full diagnostic of the climate system during last maintenance. They found nothing. I believe it's my being accustomed to our last 3 CLS550's ease of operation, with the S class, the amount of time for fan and tempature response seems exceedingly long, then again, it's an S class. Also, the amount of time my eyes are off the road bothers me, the design seems overly complicated for no reson, then again, it's a Mercedes....really miss the ease (and biturbo) of the CLS ergonomics, unfortunately, we bought this one, so no trade in after the lease is up....

I'm surprised you feel this way. For me, it was set and forget. Went into the climate menu, set everything the way I wanted and then set the rest to auto. All I have to do is hit one button ( temperature ) when I want the car warmer or colder and the car does the rest.

Maybe the issue you are having is that it does it so well, you don't feel or hear the climate control.

For me, it just works, easily and works well.

Where from did you try to sense air flow/temperature? From the centre air nozzles or everywhere?

Climate control

Socalsteve- I believe your correct, and I just realized that today, problem is, the wife does not "understand " the auto settings so everytime I get in it's completely different, which I'm sure I could set to my preferred option and save it if I'm correct, just as you can save the seat settings.

Diesel benz- yes the middle nozzles but I'm sure I just don't know how to set it as socalsteve has mentioned. I have the attention spam of a nat so digging through the manual is just painful, maybe I should take some climate control lessons and drop the "I can do it without reading the instructions " act.

In my last Porsche, all the settings were linked to an individual key. You use that key, it remembers the settings of that key. Not sure if it is the same in the Benz as my wife and I only use one key...

But, I am sure the same settings ( memory 1-2-3 ) also remember seat preferences, climate preferences, etc...Just set the climate control the way you like ( as well as all the other settings ) remember it into memory and do the same for your wife. Done!

Good luck!!!

It's been my experience in full auto, you may not feel a lot of air unless there is a great temp change.
