Has the S600 being discontinued?
With the facelift being launched this week very little, if nothing was talked about the S600. A lot of talk around the Maybach version but nothing about the standard long wheel base.
Anyone know for sure the fate of the 600?

I considered the Maybach because at that price point, the 600 doesn't make sense, except that I don't want a car as big as the Maybach. The S63 and 65 sort of make the 600 seem like a waste of time.

The S63 may be faster, the S65 definitely IS faster, but both are way too noisy and have lost a large dollop of refinement compared to the S600.

From where I am it's the other way round. In South Africa, the S63 is more expensive the S600 and on the 63 you get way less stuff standard.

The basic S550 is so frigging fast, I can't imagine anyone needing anything additional in the way of power, especially at the expense of ride quality and comfort. I can see the S600 if, indeed, it is discernibly smoother and quieter, but I have my doubts.

Hard to tell at this point.
The engine of course is a dinosaur. While having been revised a couple of times, it is a 20+ year old design. MB's newer engines can simply deliver more power at much higher efficiency.
The S65 was supposed to have several upgrades, including 4WD, that haven't happened and now the V12 engine only lives on in the S680 (China-only Machbach) and the 65 AMG models.
