When will the first 2018's hit the USA?
I read in some post that a dealer in New York already has a 2018, under wraps in their basement. So when do we think most US dealers will have one to show?

AMG GTC Roadster, E63s Ed.1, M8 Comp. Coupe
I can order one today with a build date for the last decade of June. So that would be delivery in late July unless held up at port for unknown reasons. Something that we have seen before.
But it still on target for August as expected...

Depends on the deal Just received confirmation on a late July ETA and I could grab one of them but doubt that the price will be right.
I am lukewarm on the car even though technically it offers more than previous S-Class facelifts but I also really like the one I have now. There is barely 15k miles on it.
So I am tossing around some ideas.
1. Get a great deal on a S-Class coupe. I still like the look of them
2. Get a AMG GTC roadster, but then there is overlap with the SL
3. Wait for the GTC coupe, but I would have to bridge some time.
I would love a DB11 but can't justify the extra cost. The AMG GTC is just a much better car for $100k less

The refreshed 2018 S Class is in production. I saw one in Stuttgart at the MB Museum yesterday during the Summer Concert Series with free admission to the museum. I also saw them coming off the factory line today during the plant tour in Sindelfingen. The refresh looks a lot better in person than the DOG or other pics. It was awesome watching the S class being built on the factory floor. This is a must see for MB enthusiasts.

Yes I had a few brats for you as well as a few beers!
Enjoyed the trip to the factory and unfortunately for you I did not see a new w222 without the pano room that I know you love. I also enjoyed renting a 2017
S63 for the autobahn driving. Wow the S63 is what everyone should own in Germany. I should never own a S63 in the states since I would lose my drivers license. Glad to have my S550 to keep those speeding tickets away.

i went to order my new '18 s560 a few days back and was told the next one available would be dec '17 delivery (limited dealerships from which to chose in pittsburgh with limited allocation availability - certainly not chicago around here but that is a different story) as the current ones in the queue have already been spoken for. (the gm also told me the 18s arriving now would be held at port until august - maybe september - to allow the dealers to clear out the current 17s. so just passing along what he told me.) anyway - as i don't want to wait until winter for the new s560 sedan, i'm going to go forward and buy the '18 750i. at least i can get *that* in an interesting and classy (non-boring) navy blue/saddle colour combo and have it next week. i figure if lovin was leaving us for lincoln, i could exit as well to bimmer.

Hey atleast you are staying with German engineering whereas loving is going off the deep end.
What dealer in Pittsburgh did you talk with? I live in Pittsburgh and have purchased MB cars from the west coast to the east coast but for the past 20 years always come back to my home MB dealer in Pittsburgh (best to deal with and great people) even though I strayed by buying my '01 S500 from a Denver MB dealer since I received a MUCH better deal at the time.

Lovin,
What are you doing with that awesome special ordered '15 S550? I absolutely love the color of your seats in that car--that is a special car--of course I followed your every post on your journey to delivery of that car.

I will turn it in to the dealer when my Lincoln comes in.
Someone will get a great deal on that car because all the extras will never bring any more purchase price as a used car, and I have less than 10,000 miles on the car.
