Thinking to trade....

I've had my '12 for four years, thinking of a refresh. Just rolled over 19,700miles, lol, has a tune, runs great, but this '15 has the executive rear seating, kids would like that for a long drive, not that they're complaining now, just a few days ago they said my s class is their favorite out of all our vehicles for trips. Diff is around $40k USD, needs the 20" wheel package too..... Maybe wait another year or two for a '17 with a 9sp auto, maybe with the newer revised '18's the '14-'17 models will drop in price...

i friggin love my car, just thinking a few newer updates would be decent, but not sure it's worth the money. The consumer side of my brain tells me to get myself something new since the wife has a new GLS, but the rational side tells me why bother, nothing wrong with your '12, and it still has warranty. Thoughts?

When the car is out of warranty, you will be putting a lot of money into it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it (especially with the suspension, air suspension is costly to fix). I would advise getting the new S class because they completely changed it in 2014 and refreshed for 2018. The new 2018s are coming out soon so you should be able to get a great deal on the remaining 2017s. It will be in warranty for the regular 4 years unless you get an extended warranty so you don't have to worry about fixing it.

I can see the appeal of having a newer, nicer S, but if you still have warranty on your current car maybe stick with that one a while longer while you keep an eye on the market for something more modern and with more features.......a nice issue to have

The new GLS' look nice too.

I have warranty until December 2018. Not sure what to do, it is a good problem to have for sure. Lol.

Keep the car you have. With only 19,000 miles on it, you are still driving a new car, and the extra 18 months of warranty backs up my suggestion. I've owned a 221 and am now in a 222. The differences are just simply not that much of a change. In fact, the W222 I have now has more squeaks and rattles than any MB I've ever known. For example, the plastic around the mirror rattled so bad I had to stuff rubber grommets in the seams to stop the noise. I'm constantly hearing various rattles in the back somewhere (not sure where they are coming from). I'm OK with it, ....just sayin'. Your current is BEAUTIFUL! Keep it, at least for now. And enjoy the warranty, otherwise you are throwing that away. I had a W221 pass me today and I still think the design is prettier than the current model. The taillight assemblies are more elegant and the flared fenders never got old to me. I had ZERO squeaks in my W221 even after 50,000 miles. Not a single rattle or noise whatsoever.

That changes the game. You should keep your car until the warranty is up and then get a great deal on an 18 in the winter time because the 2019s will be coming out.

Gents I appreciate your input, anyone could say just trade since yesterday is old news. I'll keep driving and watch how the market changes. 🤘🤘🤘
