Odd question on 2015 S550 4M

Probably going to sell my W221 this year and pick up a 2015 W222 as the big depreciation hit will put one in my tolerable price range. I love the new model but hate the steering wheel. Looks like it belongs in a Buick. I love the look of the new facelift 2018 S550 steering wheel. Any chance I can swap wheels with the new one. not sure what one would cost but it would be cool if it was a swap. Sorry if this is an odd question but I just don't like the standard wheel.

No ability to swap to the new style as the electronics are completely different. You could switch to the AMG line steering wheel that was used in the S-Class Coupe and non-US AMG Sport Package models (see pic.)
That should be a swap with the added cost and difficulty of buying a new matching airbag. Normally $2k-$3k

Here is a link for a cheap one though...https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-AMG-Me...EAAOSwd6VZnt67
But's a cheaper steering wheel with rubber airbag cover. Just showing it for reference...

Wow, tbh... if you’re going to spend 50-60K on a car, and the thing that stares at you ALL THE TIME, and is the most touched by you in this car is bugging you, don’t buy it.

I did it, though you will also need to buy a new air bag, they are not the same. Also keep in mind there are a lot of different wheels, with many different (wood, leather, alcantara,) ways the wheel is made, plus you need to know what features your car has. They are not all heated, nor do they all vibrate. If you buy in the US from a dealer it will cost you a lot more than 3K (with the airbag). I found a parts distributor in Germany knew a lot more that anyone in the U.S. did. I have changed steering wheels on almost every one of my 464 cars (sometimes had a couple made to get the right feel), the one for my Evora 400 was just finished, and they are working on one for my i8 right now. Normally I just buy a second steering wheel and have it remade for me, but that was not an option for the S class. There are a lot of part numbers for steering wheels so I suggest you find someone that knows what they are doing.

Honestly, I have a 2015 S550, non Sport. The steering wheel, if you stare at it, isn’t the most attractive. However, I love the way it feels and am hoping that I like the new model as well. How often do you stare at the overall steering wheel? Close to never. Just get the car and try not to dwell on the steering wheel, which will feel great in your hands and you’ll love the car.

I wish I could do that (would have saved me a lot of money), but being autistic tactile feel is something that is very important to me.
