S550 Sport Package Brake Hardware

So, I recently did a brake job (pad-slap) on my '14 W222 S550 which has the Sport Package. This is a temporary brake job as I am waiting for the EBC Red Stuff brake pads to become available this Spring, so I opted for Centric front/Meyle rear ceramic brake pads to minimize the incessant brake dust accumulations on the 20 spoke wheels (it takes longer just to clean the OEM brake dust from the wheels than it does to wash the rest of the car - becomes a real chore several times per week). We also added BG Stop Squeal on the pads & did a complete system bleed. Everything works FLAWLESSLY.

Before I get a lot of critical responses - we'll be replacing rotors, pins, clips, and bolts with the Red Stuff pads. Just needed to get something on to get us through 2-3 months until the EBC's go into production and become available.

Just one thing I wanted to share - I wanted to replace all the brake hardware on the front and rear calipers, but I noted that though the aftermarket rear brake clips are readily available are of an OEM design, the OEM front brake clips are unique to the 'sport package'...and they are different than any (aftermarket) clips out there. These are the OEM clips from the car:

OEM Front Brake Clip - W222 Sport Package

These are the readily available (aftermarket) front brake clips for the Sport Package, in this case Raybestos:

Raybestos H18189A

Can anyone shed some light on this design difference? I would have preferred to obtain Carlson Quiet-Glide clips, but they are not listed for this vehicle application.

One thing I have pretty much determined is that Mercedes-Benz OEM brake hardware clips are not available individually - they are only available in the brake pad kit (or so the Germans would have us believe!)

So, does anyone know anything or have any experience regarding these differing brake clip designs?

FINALLY!

EBC 'Red Stuff" CERAMIC LOW DUST BRAKE PADS for my 2014 W222 S550. A shame that Akebono doesn't produce them for (our) cars. I imagine that EBC will be getting a lot of US sales?

Yeah, I waited 7-months, but I can now confirm they ARE(now) in-stock/available in the U.S.

FINALLY!

I did a complete Brake Job Front and Rear with DiscItalia pads. They came with Complete New Hardware that matched the Original. I have the Sport Package. I also ordered OEM Rotors from FCP, Life Time Warrantee and also did a complete Brake Flush with Motive Kit. Job was pretty straight forward. The only problem I had was with a few of the OEM Lug Nuts, the Metal Covering on the Lug came loose on 2 of them, I had spares from then the Locking Lugs were installed. I am Extremely happy with the pads and DISCITALIA has pads for Front and Rear, again with all matching new hardware. The only item I had to source was the Caliper Bolts, they are recommended to be replaced and not reused as they do stretch when installed and torqued properly. I also replaced the Front and Rear wear sensors from FCP. Remember, FCP WILL REPLACE ANY ITEM PRUCHASED FROM THEM FOR F R E E NO QUESTIONS ASKED. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!! You can even return USED FLUIDS, Y E S, USED BRAKE FLUID AND OIL..... No Gimmicks, Don't take my word for it, call them... If you purchase New Wiper Blades from them, after 1 Year you feel they are not performing well, order a replacement set FREE..... Return the Old Set with Proof of Purchase and Done...

Anyone know it the OEM Lugs for the Sport Package can be purchased in Black as well as the Lock Set? If you have part numbers that would be great. I have Staggered OEM 19" Rims. Thanks
