Oil use
I know my W221 used to burn about a quart of Mobile 1 every 7500 miles or so, just pulled the dipstick on my W222 and noticed the oil is low. Going to add a quart of Mobil 1 but wanted to see if this is the norm with this model.

Not sure how many miles since oil was changed or added since I just purchased the car but I assume once since the car only has 17K miles on it. My W221 was a 2012.

Ok sounds like you have experience with the same engine. The question behind my question was I was wondering if the twin turbos were more prone to oil consumption than the non turbos. So depending on when the oil was changed last it might not be that different from your W221.

was the car cpo when you got it? They should have changed the oil. Get yourself an oil extractor and a fresh filter and change the oil. No need to go underneath.

Non CPO, oil looks pretty clean though on the dipstick. Hate to change it just for the sake of changing it.

What year is it? I think that you need to get the records as to when it was changed last. With that few of miles It should have been changed by at dealership and they should have records of that.

It’s a 2015. CARFAX indicates a service at 6500 miles but it did not specify oil change. Service reminder indicates that a service is due in 6 months. May just change the oil for the hell of it.

Just so everyone is clear.. You do know that there is a procedure for ensuring the oil level you are reading on the dipstick is correct, right? The engine must be at normal operating temps (like you just drove to work or back home). After that, the engine must remain off for at least 5 minutes. Only then (according to MB) will the dipstick show the correct oil level. I used to watch kids at the dealership just do an oil change on the car, start the engine for a minute (still cold) and then check the oil level. They would always say that it was half a quart to a quart low and add oil to the engine. I can't tell you how many times I have to print out the procedure for the kids in the dealerships I used to work in.

Auto mechanics 101, I always check the oil cold, which I assume is correct for this car.
