Sirius radio and traffic renewal
My sirius subscription is running out on my 2015. I have a renewal offer of $99 for a year. Does the normal subscription include traffic and weather, or is this in addition? What is a good price to pay for the package?

100 bucks is a good deal for all access, don't know about traffic though. I just use Waze as it alerts me to the 5.0.

Sirus XM has a great lineup but the bit rate is junk. You essentially get less than half of the information that a song takes up to hear correctly. The end result is poor sound quality. Now your car has a great sound system and if your use sirus........well you get the idea.....
On a side note if you really really want Sirus then get it and use your phone to stream it off the internet to the car radio at a MUCH HIGHER bit rate for far better sound quality.
If you have the 3D Burmeister system like we do then its like sacrilege to use Sirus.

Renewal

i ended up with all access package plus traffic for $209 for the year. Traffic is an additional fee per month, but I was told it was included in the all access package I ordered. The music package was $99 per year, quite a bit less than having traffic. Wondering if traffic is worth it.

BIT Rate
I was not aware that Sirius has a poor bit rate. I will have to use cd’s to realize the potential of the sound system. It is a great system.

Will the 2015 be able to get traffic via FM radio, or do you have to buy traffic from Sirius?

Never pay 100$! I paid 29.99 for 6 months, just keep telling them you arent interested in the price offered, it takes 30 mins but once you do it once, everytime it expires, call them and say you want the same price again!!

Free RDS traffic data via FM radio is only available on pre-facelift W221 vehicles. Mercedes switched to using Sirius traffic with the W221 facelift which requires a paid subscription with Sirius. RDS traffic is a clever solution. It only provides traffic data for roads within the local area (you can't see traffic 50 miles away). Its only real disadvantage is that it can take a few minutes for your vehicle receive traffic data after the engine is started which does not enable you to immediately determine the best route to take. I assume SIrius traffic has a faster update rate (but it might not since it is transmitting traffic data for the entire country). It would have been nice if Mercedes provided BOTH capabilities to receive traffic. I assume Sirius provides Mercedes a financial incentive to restrict their vehicles to use only SIRIUS traffic.

I believe Sirius is such junk that called Sirius long before my subscription expired and demanded that my three-year subscription be terminated early without any request for compensation. Streaming Pandora or Amazon Music is night and day difference in quality.
