2 Interior Color Combo Choices
I've found 2 S560's with exact same specs, including exterior color. Only diff is the interior wood trim in the Mahogany interior. This is only about the wood, not the Mahogany - I know it's a loathe/love thing, but I like it. So, my question is this: I'm leaning to the Black Piano as it matches nicely with the Comand Control trim. The Burl, which I also like, seems to conflict a bit with the Comand trim, but looks great with the seats as a brown w/ brown. These are the exact same views, only the trim changes. Remember, the beige trim tends to look a bit pinkish, so try to ignore that (it isn't). The seats are pretty close to reality since I've seen and sat in them. The one I sat in had the black piano and I thought it looked great. But, I also really like the Burl.

IMO, burl harmonizes better. The brown elements work with the seats and the beige. The dark portions, since burl is variegated, work with the controller.

I prefer the burl wood even though neither is a great match to the mahagony. It would have been nice to offer, well, actual mahagony to fit the reddish color scheme. Maybe Myrtle Sunburst?
If a choice between two and in all other aspects of the car being the same I would take the wood because I like to look at wood textures. Piano black, while more neutral is a simple dust and fingerprint magnet and is not my thing.
Good luck!

I much prefer the burl. Looks much richer and coordinates with the other colors better. I had the burl in my S550 coupe with the saddle tan leather -- which also had the black around the Comand Control trim. Don't worry about matching that -- go with what looks better overall. By the measure, it's burl by a mile.

All good/helpful replies and a split decision. In the end, this morning, I made a final choice and went with the black piano bcz I like it but the one other diff in the cars is a trade off of an extra feature that I really wanted (nite vision vs hud). In any event, after "not being in the market", I'm in the market. Called the dealer this morning and gave the ok on the deal. Probably pick up the new 2018 tomorrow or Wed. God help everyone if it has the noises that another thread is consumed with.
edit:
If not clear above - I wanted HUD over Nite Vision. I have both now and in 3 yrs have used Nite Vision probably 4 times.

I like the Burl Walnut.
I really hope you are getting Magic Body Control and Drivers Assistance. The latest version of MBC completely transforms the way these cars ride and, IMO, is a true marvel of engineering. It is day and night better than the MBC I had in my 2015.
I have a 2018 S560 and regarding the noise intrusion, with all due respect to those who are experiencing the problem, I truly feel that the interior of the new car is SO quiet, that the only thing one hears at speed, is the sound of wind moving across the body, along with the sounds of passing vehicles. I should note that I switched out the run flat tires for very quiet conventionals, which makes the “problem” even more pronounced. Regardless of what anyone says, cars at highway speeds are not “SILENT,” and the more insulated they become, the more the impossible to remove wind & traffic noises become more noticeable. Just my opinion. My 2018 is, without a doubt, THE most quiet vehicle I have ever ridden in. Best of luck with your new car.

Magic Body is out for me, since I live in the Northeast and traction is more important. My '15 has Bridgestone Serenity tires and the new one comes with the 20" multi-spoke which I will probably change for non-RF. Pickup is tomorrow.

both gorgeous, you can't go wrong either way! i see you ordered black, my personal preference is wood with some character - i came VERY close to ordering an E400 with the piano brown wood (forgot formal name) with the 2 tone seats, at least on line i thought looked very sharp.
i DO use my nightview assist - i think it's hard to see and think the BMW version is much better (showing heat signatures - much less info).
HUD - that's a daily driver thing.
sounds like you got the best of all words - best of luck and enjoy!

And it's now a done deal. Just got the call from my insurance co. that dealer has changed my cars and they are delivering tomorrow afternoon. Ended up with a reasonable deal, considering I traded my '15 vs trying to sell myself. This is the sad result of reading these forums even when you aren't "in the market". I went from (diff thread) looking at a car 7 mos on the lot and asked some questions, which ended up as a multi-page thread and now this one with me buying. Curse you all.
