So I have the phone connected to the car and every call will come thru the car speakers. There are times when I just want the call to go thru my phone only
for privacy when there are others in the car. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I have been searching for answers and have not been successful....

What kind of phone? You control it with the phone. Originally Posted by atlgapdo

Where do you live? In many places not using Bluetooth is illegal. Few years back I got a $175.00 ticket for holding the phone up to my ear.

It's easiest to just transfer the phone audio from Bluetooth back to your phone's speaker, similar to how you can change the music audio back and forth from the phone's speaker to a bluetooth headset/speaker. On my iPhone, during a phone call I can press the speaker icon and then choose between iPhone, speaker(phone), and the bluetooth-connected device (my car). If I press iPhone the call is transferred to my phone. Presumably on Android you can do something similar.Originally Posted by atlgapdo

Thanks guys. I have a samsung phone. Have not thought of checking the phone itself to see if that could be done. I just thought there was a way you could do it instantly from the car.
I am in Georgia and coincidentally, a hands-free law just went into effect just a few days ago..... but there are times I definitely do not want to answer the calls thru the car speakers....

On your Samsung phone, during a call in your car, the Bluetooth symbol will be illuminated. To switch to a more private mode, tap the Bluetooth symbol. Your call will now be routed through just your phone.
To change back, tap the symbol again.
Or, the next call will also revert back to Bluetooth mode.

at worst, just shut the bluetooth during the call (whether from the car side, or the phone side)
