Mercedes Me? Or not me? Is this thing not working for anyone else?

Hi all,
WHEN I can get the app to work, it is finicky, and amazingly, offers less features than my wife's Buick.
It's been 8 degrees F here and i can't get the car to remote start - the app is crashing, or server errors, etc. - anyone else experiencing this?
I also found my BMW apps to be "craptastic" and they didn't even offer remote start. yet, GMC and Buick's apps seem more full featured and more robust.
Thoughts? suggestions?
oh, for a chuckle, look at the reviews on the app store - "The best or nothing? - then nothing, because that's what this app does..." -and that was one of the nicer reviews!!!!!

It's not a very good app. My Ford Raptor app is far superior in every way.

I found a workaround that is amazing for all this type of stuff... when it's SUPER COLD out like it was 2 days ago (-5 degrees wind chill), I simply walk to my car, get it in, turn on the car, and drive off. It's incredible... and so easy. I turn the heat on but don't bother with my heated steering wheel (tried it once, it gets way too hot for me), I don't bother with the heated seats (I'm a man, I don't need my seats to be heated because in a few minutes of driving the car is toasty warm), and all this works so well for me. I disabled every single tech nanny device on the car except the one that makes a beeping noise when a car is in the lane next to me and I turn on my turn signal. Everything else is off, and I just roll old school style. It's simple and not frustrating. Yeah, I'm a bit jealous of my friend's new Acadia that he starts remotely when he's a block away or inside his house but who cares? I'm a man, not a pu$$y .

Don't hate! Just being honest. I'm sure I'm in the minority here.

I'm not crazy about the remote start feature either. I basically do the same thing as you, get in, turn on, let fluids cycle for a few minutes before driving off, turn on heated steering wheel and heated seats to take advantage of those features since I paid to have them. I rather be driving than have the car sitting wasting gas not going anywhere! No hate here! Lol!

Issues with the app itself being terrible aside ... I've found over the past few days that it's been timing out and unable to connect. So it's gone from a poor app to worthless.

Yup terrible and worthless. Tried over and over (and over) to start the car - times out - or just doesn't do anything. Terrible.

For our 16 Maybach the app works fine with few errors. I will say the app is kind of lame compared to other cars out there. Crap it would be jsut as nice to have the remote start on the key fob like our Corvette....On our 18 AMG GTC there is NO remote start feature which is a bummer......

The app is a big disappointment, only works about half the time you need it too and limited functionality. MB could’ve done much better.

I was thinking about the app and then began to think that Mercedes as a whole is NOT big on internet related stuff. Take a look at the website. Under the Maybach 12 cylinder there is an 18 model and under the 8 cyl there is a 19 model..........

So you can build a new 8 cyl Maybach but not the 12 cyl.........

This may be changing although very slowly. Within the past week I got a notification on my ‘19 S63 COMMAND unit that my navigation map was updated automatically over the “air waves”. Looks like MB maybe slowly moving the direction of what Tesla has been doing for some time now which is downloading updates automatically.
