W222 S550 spare tire

Do you have to swap tires if you have the staggered setup?
I think that the standard nuts will fit the AMG S63 spare because this spare is not stamped steel and is much thicker. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The AMG spare looks nice but seriously.. for temporary use, I care not about cosmesis.

Good idea, I'll go get a can to keep in the trunk.

Rule of trailering is if you don't have a spare.....you'll get a flat. (Happened to me twice when I gambled and lost within 2 yrs)
If you have a spare it will never be needed! ( bought two spares because I was trailering interstate) haven't had a flat in 4 years!!
I've never had a blow-out and any flat I've ever experienced has been a slow leak from a nail puncture.
Caveat: My W222 wheels are 19-inchers and I will never ever buy a car with an oversized 21 or 22 inch wheel unless that is the only option available. I always go with the smallest wheel option because 1) better ride quality 2) much lower likelihood of tire failure.

I'm with you bullit.
WIth the run flats, I would have not made it home (too far and too major of a tire failure). I would have had to have the car pulled onto a flat bed, and been driven to a dealer, and then hopefully, get someone to drive me home. I like more independence, not less.
No spare, no buy for me.

Really, the lack of a spare is a major problem with current MB cars. However, as much as I hate not having a spare--or a proper place to put one--the rest of the car more than compensates for this issue, so I continue to drive MB.
