Drooping seat pockets

Not sure how you applied some velcro to bring up the pocket to the seat back.....your photo does not show this ? In fact what does the photo show ??? Give us another photo of the finished product ! Perhaps the industrial heavy looped velcro could secure the pocket but not sure if the velcro would stick to the "cloth" backing and for how long ?? I just can't see how the pocket is SECURED to the back of the seat ??!!
How about now? 🤓

LOL . that's because my pocket does not swing out as far as the pocket you show and I missed the black plastic on the sides. You WIN ! Now lets hope the damn velcro stays put. .....I know my little magnet buttons will last forever !

Let's all agree that these seatback pockets are the stupidest thing that Mercedes ever designed.

You are not the only one!! This is horrible, my 2015 S550 has the same issue!!
[QUOTE=douwd20;7848660]I'm sure I'm not the only one but I can't find the thread. My back seat pockets are drooping and the dealer wants close to $1500 to fix. There must be a DIY fix.
Mercedes Benz is totally aware of this poorly designed seat back pocket, yet will not fix the problem for those affected. To their defense, MB USA offered to pay 1/2 of the $1800.00 it takes to fix the problem. I respectfully said thanks but no thanks to the $900.00 I would have had to pay! I used $2.00 Gorilla double sided tape to seal them up permanently or until MB changes their mind and does the right thing for all of us affected by their poor design of the mechanism to retract the pocket. It’s a known problem. I’ve never posted to a board like this before but I must say I have really soured on the Mercedes Benz brand. Why would I want to buy a product the manufacturer don’t stand by 100%? “The best or nothing” I don’t think so!! They obviously need to change their slogan. The only contrast I have personally experienced like this is on my 2010 Lexus LS. When that car was out of warranty, the leather on the door panels snd armrest began to fail, Lexus stepped to the plate for $12,500.00 to fix the problem for the second owner of the vehicle!!! MB USA needs to stand up for their mistake and make it right for all of us affected by this defect. How do I trust the “Brand” in the future?
I never put a map, computer, phone or tablet in the pocket!
Never used them
Such a bad design and obvious defect!!

Mine are a little droopy too ... someday, I'll get around to the velcro or magnet fix, but for now, just enjoying everything else about the car!

They don't just "pop" off, they usually break the tabs on removal.
The only way I would even suggest trying to remove them if you intend to re-use, is to unbolt the seats for access. The sides need to open up so you can slide the cover down and out of the hooks, and in the car it's impossible due to the console and B pillar.

How is it that all you people want to just roll over and take it from this company? Maybe you all did not purchase yours brand new, I honestly don’t know. I’m sure you all will call me a noobie or whatever your fancy nomenclature is...
If there is this many people with the SAME problem, why not honor it and take care of it after spending 115k on a car brand new? Why not simply fix it for free. You all have come up with solutions pretty quickly and pretty cost effectively.
I am afraid I am not wired to just let it go and fix it myself like you all wonderful people are capable of doing.
Please, help me understand why in the world would I want to continue to purchase Mercedes moving forward just purely on principle at this point alone? My wife’s F$@&?!$ Subaru has better quality stitching than my Merc? Look - call it an oversight by someone in their Quality Assurance or wherever, but let’s take some ownership of that oversight and fix it for free. Why lose qualified customers over something so petty?
I want answers! Make me believe again! Let’s go! Or be quiet and I’ll know that clearly my intuition was right. I have been fooled by shylocks at this point. Fool me once as they say...

No argument here but maybe an opinion or two. Leasing “trumps” (that’s right I said it, please big mister don’t ban me ) purchase and MB attitude for every customer (repeat or not) that walks out the door an arbitrary three new to the brand will enter.

Mine also. A 2015 S550, 45,000 miles. New cost $135,000. Loaded. But the seat back pockets are hanging in the breeze. Nice fixes delineated above. But -- for an expensive ride, this kind of pervasive problem, with no broad based fixes from Mercedes, is pretty pathetic.

See attached bulletin. Speak with dealer service manager or MBUSA direct to see if they will offer goodwill repair. Normally Xentry bulletins are only covered under warranty however, if your vehicle is maintained by MB dealer they “may” offer assistance since problem is known and documented.
