I called MB about the Service Campaign and I was instructed to call my local dealership to setup an appointment to get the repair done.

Not a Recall but rather Service Campaign 2019080019: 2012-2017 C-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, GL-Class, GLC-Class, GLE-Class, GLK-Class, GLS-Class, M-Class, S-Class (205, 218, 207, 212, 213, 166, 253, 292, 204, 217, 222) aluminum bolts of the steering gear housing cover and the aluminum bolts on the power steering rack may corrode over time this could lead to a separation of the power steering unit from the steering rack resulting in power steering failure. Dealer will replace the aluminum bolts and seal them, or replace the power steering rack if necessary. Have dealer check VMI to determine if your VIN is involved. Approximately 398,527 vehicles are affected.

They called my service a Recall campaign, maybe it’s a way of staying out of the news, could you imagine , Today Mercedes Benz said close to 400 thousand Mercedes have a defective steering issue , were the steering rack could separate , wouldn’t help sell cars. Im not saying that’s what it is ,but remember the VW Diesel thing.

What is a recall?
When a manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines that a vehicle creates an unreasonable risk to safety or fails to meet minimum safety standards, the manufacturer is required to fix that vehicle at no cost to the owner. That can be done by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund (for equipment) or, in rare cases, repurchasing the car.
What should I do if my vehicle is included in this recall?
If your vehicle is included in this recall, it is very important that you get it fixed as soon as possible given the potential danger to you and your passengers if it is not addressed. You should receive a separate letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, notifying you of the recall and explaining when the remedy will be available, whom to contact to repair your vehicle, and to remind you that the repair will be done at no charge to you. If you believe your vehicle is included in the recall, but you do not receive a letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, please call NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or contact your vehicle manufacturer or dealership.
Thank you for your attention to this important safety matter and for your commitment to helping save lives on America's roadways.

When I put in my specific 2018 S650 VIN nothing comes up. Contacted my dealer, and they also say they have nothing on my specific vehicle.
On at least 4 specific occasions, my engine has totally shut down AFTER the normal automatic shut down at an extended stop. This recall certainly sounds like the problem I have experienced. My MB service advisor has asked me to bring in the car so they can take a look at it.

The documents claim this is 2018-2019, but the manufacturing dates are Nov'2018-Mar'2019, which means they are all 2019 models. So your 2018 S560 should be exempt from this anyways.
