After a series of BMW Ms, a Tesla Model S along the way, I now 'get' what all the fuss is about. MB is in a class of its own. My wife daily drives a 2015 GL550 and after driving the Model S for a couple of years, I decided I wanted another car in the stable. I found an ultra loaded CPO 2016 S550 (150k msrp) with 14k miles at MB Manhattan this summer and decided to pick it up. I have grown fonder of this car each and every day more so than most other cars I've owned. The ride, the interior, the sheer speed it accumulates without fuss or drama, all add to the theater of owning this model year. This car gets stares even after being 4 years old. We absolutely love it. The only thing I would change is maybe go for the 19 inch AMGs with all season non RFTs but the 20 inch multi spokes look incredible but the ride isn't as plush as it could be. And, Apple CarPlay would be nice. But, once that Burmester high end is playing, you forget about everything. Just wanted to share a few pics and say hi!
Great spec! I've never seen an interior color combo like that.
It always cracks me up to hear the Tesla fanboys go on about how the Model S is a luxury car and mention it in the same breath as the S Class. Ummmm, it's simply not in the same league - not even remotely close. The only thing they have in common is the letter "S"

Spot on. As a Model S owner non-fanboy, I can confirm. The Tesla for me is a fun toy, the S class is a prized possession. That interior is a few notches above the Tesla in every respect.

One makes fart noises and one has a fragrance atomizer. Any questions? lol.

You are basically driving a Maybach, you rarely see a S Class this decked out. Congrats my friend and happy new years.

Yeah, I’ve always wondered just how much better a Maybach would be over this spec and the difference isn’t much. Frankly, for a daily driver, I like the size of the S550 better. Here is the list of options on the car.
Looks great. I had that same interior color but your leather is waaaay nicer How did you like MB of M? I've read many bad reviews on them, from some members here as well!

I’ve had a very good experience with them largely because I know what I’m getting with them. Also, till a couple of years ago I used to live a few blocks away from them so they were the only viable option for us. Not anymore, but I still give them my business. They are owned and run by MB USA so there are no gimmicks and games when it comes to sales paperwork. I know the sales lead well at this point. Their CPO operation is the best run that I’ve found. A family friend of mine is an expert MB trained technician and now a service operation lead at another dealership in the region and has validated this for me. They are also incredibly transparent about the work they do on the cpo cars. For example, my S550 had 7k worth of work done prior to sale and it was all available to view in the CPO listing. Downside of of all this, they don’t negotiate on price and since I value service and quality of experience far higher than a small discount, I get treated well there.
Compare this to the disastrous experience I had trying to pick up my 35th anniversary edition M5 recently at a NJ BMW dealer and I was reminded why I should’ve stuck to MB to begin with. Long thread on Bimmerpost and a story for another day.
Happy to provide contacts there for anyone interested.
Great looking S-Class. Is there a list of company-owned MB dealerships in the US? The car dealership world (all brands) is one of the most consumer-unfriendly parts of the US economy, and I would prefer to use a corporate-owned dealer if that is an option in my area.

Yah, at the regular S Class length, the only way it gets better is with a fully spec'ed S63 or S65. My S65 has a few more options (but not many!) plus the glorious AMG V12 Biturbo. Congrats on scoring a great deal on a real unicorn of a S class!

Ah, a S63 or S65 would cure my M5 itch, for sure ;-) I bet that V12 sounds amazing

I wholeheartedly agree. Also, AFAIK, MB Manhattan is the only one as @konigstiger says.
The level of luxury here is why I'm waiting for MB's EQS instead of stepping into a Tesla S. I want to see what MB does with the cabin and amenities and automated safety.
The leather is the Designo Silk option. Its beautiful, softer and amazing. But it only comes in two light colors. I would have ordered that leather option if they made it in a darker color. I'm the owner/CEO of a construction materials manufacturing company, so I can't have light colored interiors. They show the dirt too much. (For better or worse, i'm pretty much stuck with black leather....) Beautiful car. Enjoy.

I think the disease of loving the S class, or cars in general, is you'll always long for more options. I consciously picked mine with the Burmester 3d but wish I waited for one with the diamond stiched leather. At least I have nappa nut brown which I love but man, some of these interiors like what the OP has are insane. I was also desperate to ditch my F15 X5 50i which I did not really enjoy and wanted gone (minus insane power).
After ordering my last two MBZ cars exactly the way I want them, I don't see myself ever buying another Mercedes off the lot. For one, I can always plan around the wait times and second, getting exactly what you want is well worth the wait.
