rotating tires.

Is there a procedure to rotating tires so that the pressure sensors all associate with the right positions?

The tire pressure monitor will automatically detect new (or rotated) wheels or sensors after a few minutes of driving.

My apologies. Am I missing something? Tires on an S Class can’t be rotated, correct? The tires are staggered.

If you had "RTFM", and had not asked the question in the forum, I (and I'm sure others) would have not learned something new. So thank you for asking.

You're right. Didn't think that all the way through. Traditional 4-corner tire rotation is not possible with staggered tires just side-to-side rotation (and then only with tires with non-directional tread).
Also needing to swap side-to-side because of a wear pattern on one tire as opposed to trying to extend the life of the tires might mean a suspension or alignment issue.

Well, I'll be damned. You do have the proper tires, all 4 the same size, if they are riding on 18" wheels. You don't have staggered tires like on the 19" and 20" wheels.
Didn't know that was an option. See what I mean by learning something new? So my original post answers your question.

While you're in the RTFM, you might look for a discussion on which type of rotation to perform (front-to-rear vs. crossing). I made the mistake of letting the tire shop talk me into a cross rotation without reading my manual (2004 W240) and immediately experienced the telltale rough ride (jiggle). After confirming in the manual, I returned and had the tires reversed to maintain original direction of rotation (same side of car). Also, way back in 2004 (first deployment of TPMS?) M-B took care of the tire sensor locations as mine returned back to proper positions after moving wheels around! This first occurred when I replaced all tires in 2016, so I was ready for it when I rotated last year.

You peaked my curiosity.. I went and actually looked now. You are right and I was wrong! The fronts are 245 and rears are 275. I assumed they were same and I was very wrong!
Sorry

usually the 4Matic cars wheels and tires are the same size, the RWD cars have staggered wheels which get the left to right rotation

On my 4Matic cars, I do the "rearward cross " rotation. My old FWD car actually says to do the same rearward cross and tire wear was nice and even halfway through the life of those tires.

Yes, frustratingly the only means currently to reduce costly, premature replacement is basic tire rotation / wearing down the other edge!

As OEM now there is no adjustment other than TOE "directional" adjustment - turning wheels in or out - excess adjustment only increasing the overall wear rate.

We saw the need therefore to re-instate from the early 90's once again, easily adjustable front Camber and Caster. Rear Camber (and extra Toe) adjustment kits.

Deletion of which has come about because of cost cutting and the ever increasing speed of auto assembly lines.

With KMAC can now "adjust tire contact angles" to spread load more evenly. Higher edge load also leading to ruptured side walls, rim damage.

W222 KMAC FRONT KIT simply replaces the upper arm, inner bushings. Designed so can fit without arm removal. Provides up to 1.5 degrees Positive or Negative Camber and Caster adjustment. More than enough to resolve premature edge tire wear issues and allowing to correctly resolve steering pull #503316-2 J $380 (Full set both sides).

REAR KIT replaces the lower arm inner bushes for Camber (also can install without arm removal).

Extra Rear Toe adjustment kit also included to compensate for the new rear "Camber" facility. Precise single wrench adjustable, accurately under load - direct on alignment rack. #502226 K $480

Delivery $40 one kit ($60 F/R)
