Hello,

Planning on taking a trip with the family and I am considering using the 2015 S550, but need more cargo room. I have a Yakima cargo carrier I’ve used in the past but need roof rails to attach it to.

I know there is a Mercedes product, but has anyone used any other manufacturer and what are your opinions?

Generally, I have used Thule products and am a fan. The Aero Wingbar is a good system that can mount bike racks, cargo boxes and other gear to a vehicle roof. I use a Thule system on my GLE with 100% success, confidence and satisfaction.


You will need the correct tower/foot for the S-Class. The Thule configurator is the best place to find it. I think they also have an online chat assistant and probably also email/phone to help you find the right product.

Thanks for the reply. I had already checked both Thule and Yakima and neither have a system that fits the 2015 S550.

I have the OEM racks from the '14 S I had........they are for sale 200 plus shipping.
