S-Class Owners: How old are you?

The stereotype is that S-class owners are old dudes. But I got my first one in my 30s because of a personal preference for comfort and style over sportiness. Wondering what the demographics are here.

I bought my first new S Class in my early 30s and I am now in my 50s. I am hoping I am not an "old dude" but I am certainly older than when I bought my first S Class.

I'm in my early 30s, got my first S Class 4 months ago (I say first 'cos I'm never going back to anything else for a daily). The CL/S-Class coupe has forever been my dream car since my 20s, then the kids arrived.
I love it, my wife loves it more to the point she's thinking of switching her Audi A5 for a GLS.

My kids love riding in the S for some reason...even though my wife's minivan has screens and the S doesn't. Am I raising snobs?

I was 24 when I bought my first S-Class, 380SE in 1983 while living in Wien at the time.

57 y.o.now. I've been driving them since 1995 (32 y.o.) and never left the fold. I've had other brands as secondary cars but the S Benz is the best.

My first S-class was a W220 in my early 30's. Had an E, CLK, Cadillac DTS and 5-Series BMW in between my second and current S-Class now in my mid-40's. I just didn't like the W221 so I bounced around a bit.

I'm 81 now. Always had sports/high performance cars. Got my first MBZ when I was 35 (450 SLC). Since then have only had MBZ except for my Toyota Tundra truck. Now enjoying my 2016 S550 coupe.

Wow, how old were you when you had kids?! And yes, they may grow up to be a little snobby.

I got my first, and only S, which is gone now, at 39 I too have always perceived them as an older, more accomplished guy But it's very different now in this economic climate.

Ha! I'm 42 and my wife and I had our twin boys when I was 40. I called you a "puppy" because I instinctively draw inspiration from a very dear friend and mentor, an extremely accomplished lawyer in his 80s who calls those younger than him (basically, everyone) a "puppy." And also, why would I want to think someone not much older than me is "old"?!?!?!

Hope you come back to an S soon!

Very nice, guys. And Steve, cheers on getting a complete set in one try! My wife sometimes laments not having a daughter, but then we realize how having twins of the same sex simplifies what is already crazy, crazy demanding.

Oh , and that's not our only similarity. My wife drives a Pacifica, so our garages are pretty similar, too!

I'm 59 and had 3 - 7 series BMW's for many years in my 30's and 40's and 3 - S63's over the past many years. Originally, I went to look at a 5 series BMW and they lied to me as it was a 7 series. I said, "OMG, that's an old man's car. I would never." He said, take it home, show your girlfriend, your friends and if they don't like it just bring it back tomorrow. They LOVED it so I loved it. I was a big car guy ever since then. Sold this 2001 740i Sport for only ...$5500 before I got my 2008 S63. I almost cried, it had to be sold so cheap, a $72k car new but 13 years old.

That generation 7 series, in sport trim, was epic. I haven't liked them since.

Now that's a great car.

haha thats awesome. How has your Pacifica been? We've had two. our 2017 had a lot of problems but our 2020 seems much better.

Oh yeah, and with your luck you'd wind up with another set of twins! lol

Awesome 7 Series, my favorite design. Looks like you live in the Kentlands? I'm in Lakelands.

We have an '18, and the electronics have been kind of flakey, but it functions OK mechanically. But putting aside basic driving functionality, it seems like total garbage and is apt to split in half one day. I hate driving it, and it seems to exhibit all the worst things about FWD. Luckily my wife is as eager to be rid of it at the end of the lease as I am. Big question for us is what to get that isn't a minivan but offers most of the practicality (including screens for the kiddos).

Sounds pretty similar to my opinions on mine lol, except my wife loves ours which is why we got another one. Lots of great options in crossovers, I would look at the Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Volkswagen Atlas. If you want to spend more I love the BMW X7.

I will say the 2020 is a lot more solid and feels better than the 2017, but still wouldnt be my choice,
