It’s got the magic body control and hud and night vision. I’m in RI too near Newport Aquidneck island. The car has worked out great other than a fuel stink the first four months that turned out to be a simple hose clamp near the right fuel rail on the low pressure line where the rubber line meets the metal line. It was dripping. Took 4 trips to the dealer with loaners each time to figure that one out. The car is very comfortable and the trans in general is fairly smooth. Some people complain of really rough downshifts.

Nice! I rarely see an S in RI and I'm always paying attention to the cars around me. If I do see one, 90% of the time its in Newport. Used to spend a lot of time there as an Air Force officer but I'm retired as of December 2020 so the visits are less frequent.

My 2015 had Burmester 3d and so does the potential new car. I absolutely love the jaw dropping bass and clarity so that was a must for me!

The used market is slim right now.

What was your primary search vehicle? Cars.com or the like?
I used 5 sites understanding that certain dealers subscribe to certain sites. So Cars.com, Autotrader.com, ebay.com, Truecar.com, and Cargurus.com. Car Gurus casts the widest net but it does not catch everything. So when your looking for a needle in a hay stack you must remain diligent and check multiple sources. I don't even remember which site pointed me to this particular dealer. I can say that once you download the app for each website and setup an account that the process becomes easier. The hardest part is talking to dealers with minimal experience and even less pictures. At least 5 times in this 60 day endeavor did I say "I need Burmester 3d, it has speakers on the ceiling and a sub in the trunk." They would write back saying the car had speakers on the ceiling but it was just the vanity mirrors

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Yes I went through the same thing in the search for my S560. Turned out the same dealer I bought my 2017 S550 a year before got in the 2018 S560 and I caught it as soon as went online and I was down there buying the car the next day. The really good thing was there was a accident on the carfax with my 2017 and other dealers had been giving me a hard time with it that the car had a issue and it would be tougher to sell, the dealer who sold me the car with the accident knew it was nothing serious as they were the original seller of the car and it was slightly hit from the back 5000 miles after they sold the car. This S560 I'm driving now was a great find a long term keeper for me. I bough the extra MB warrantee too and still have nearly 3.5 left on it.

Thanks, ya it's a great car now that I've got most of the bugs worked out of it. Once I get rid of the Run Flats in about 5K miles or so the car will be complete, just figured I might as well use the tires since they were brand new when I bought the car last fall. When I ditch the tires in 5K miles they will have 14K miles on them, so at least I will have got most of their useful life out of them. Just really glad I got that gas leak issue behind me, that was kinda a freaky problem the first 4 months of ownership of this car, since then everything seems fine with the car with the exception of the seat massager occasionally not working but I'll try and get that addressed at the 30K service in 5K miles when I have them install the Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ tires.

Congrats! Great to hear when someone's patience is rewarded by finding a great car at the price you wanted to pay.

Care to share colors and options, or do you want to wait until the deal is finalized?

Below are the options that pushed it into the 143k range:

black poplar wood (excited to see this in person, I hope its not too dark, not an option that costs extra)
Diamond White exterior
Black premium nappa leather interior
Warmth and comfort
P1
Burmester 3d
Magic sky control
Driver assistance
Rear spoiler
Night vision
Exclusive trim
HUD
20" AMG wheels
Rear passenger footrest
Heated windshield
rear seatbelt airbags

Bad weather in GA this week so its sounds like the inspection is Thursday...

Inspection with Lemon Squad was basically flawless. Payment is in the works then shipping ($750). Should have it in 10-14 days pending everything goes as planned. Really pumped for the 2018+ facelift. My 2015 was perfect so I imagine that I'll love this new one.

Got the new car Sunday night. Couple pics attached. Ive already put some mileage on her as I've been driving everywhere in the state visiting people. Still getting used to the car a bit but my overall experience is extremely positive. Night and day compared to my 2015.

That is definitely the best color interior you could get as it will be the easiest to keep looking nice for many years. What makes it day and night different from your 2015? The additional options it has?

I have seen that wood color before and didn't know what it was. I generally don't like black wood trim (find it depressingly oppressive) but I like yours it has a rich warmth. Why do you say your new one is like night and day compared to your 2015?

The black poplar is freaking sweet. Before I saw it in person, I was disappointed that it didnt have burl walnut. Now I'm in love with it, looks sweet on the black nappa.

The night and day comment was in regards to:
-new display is bananas, so clear and sharp, the bezel in the middle of the screen being gone is also amazing, its one giant piece of glass, it's really nice to look at
-the 9g transmission is really cool too, I barely feel the car shifting
-i had nappa leather but not the premium variant with diamond stitching, really loving that
-i typically had my sunroof cover closed 95% of the time as I have light eyes and I'm sensitive to sunlight, magic sky control lets me keep the cover open but not get assaulted by all the light
-i dont have magic body control but the car seems to have less body roll, I used to go around rotary's and really feel the cars sheer size, seems better on 2018
-the sport exterior and new tail/head lights are all insane, I never saw a 2018 sport, in white, in person, and all the glossy black trim is so beautiful

I'm overall really impressed and I'm happy I made the decision to upgrade to the facelifted variant. MB did such a nice job on these cars, you just can't beat the S.
