I've never looked into updating my maps because I've always used Google maps on my phone. My question is this, can this update be done at home or does the dealer have to be the one to do this? I see a usb update available for $149 online and vin required

i didnt want to waste money on the update with mutliple iterations of the roadway unfolding in front of my eyes
however, i am curious as to the update process discussed here
[QUOTE=Phillyfinest;8298587]That’s weird. I purchased update twice fro them. Once in 2019 and again in 2020.[/QUOTE
]It's really weird. I've bought from them before and it arrived without a hitch. Not sure what happened in this transaction
USB arrived, updated completed without a hitch Old version map before updates V4.0 N. America Update in progress Successfully updated 2021/2022 Version Map V15.0 N. America
Is there any way to confirm that road updates actually took place? With all this technology, it would be pretty easy to make it look like an update was done. On GM updates, they have you do a search for a location that was not there before and will show up after.

Everything is there including the new Mercedes dealership that's about 4 yrs old that wasn't showing on previous version.
Does anyone know if a 2018 S560 does automatic map updates over the air? It looks like it does according to the menu screen, I have automatic updates switched on, but the map version is still from 2018/19 what came with the car. Asked the dealer and they said no updates are available for this car. Seems hard to imagine, it's just version 14 this car has, my 2019 E450 Wagon is on Version 20 already and I've seen that update a couple of times since i've had the car.

Purchased this product but did not receive the map product key that should have been supplied with my purchase. The purchase process was glitchy as I didn’t receive any notification that the purchase was completed until 2 days later via email. The website was a bit glitchy but they had a checkout option through PayPal, which made me comfortable with completing the transaction. Then, it took almost 3 weeks for the product to arrive. I open the package with the USB but again no product key was supplied so I emailed the company requesting the product key. I tried to request the product key via their website and kept getting an error. I received an email stating I needed to be in the car at the point of doing the update to then request the product key again. I get in the car insert the USB and send another email and waited over 30 minutes with no response. This has not been a smooth process at all. I’m going back to PayPal and requesting my money back. This is ridiculous!!!

UPDATE
I heard back from this vendor and was able to successfully update my navigation to 2021. If you are willing to deal with a few glitches during the buying and update process you can actually update your navigation.
For how much i use MB navigation system not sure it is worth it, it is better than others but my newer Andriod phone running Google Maps or Waze is still better
