Drive train vibration
Yep, I have that module, it works great. If that would solve this issue, thats an easy solution.
Well, anyways that one that replied to me I mentioned in an earlier post said he had to schedule an appointment for May to have the vehicle checked out. Until then, guess it will remain a mystery but I guess they key takeaway is that you are not alone on the problem or if MB Canada calls it normal like you mentioned then it is a "characteristic". We will see what happens. In the mean time I hope you still enjoy your vehicle. This is annoying for sure but I am hopeful that the rest of the vehicle makes up for this for you.
2020 560 4M, 42k miles
I've recently began noticing a slight vibration (shiver) at various speeds from 5mph to 75mph. It's not ongoing, very inconsistent -- most noticeable when driving through a parking lot at 5mph, it lasts a few seconds then dissipates. The other day my wife asked if the vibration was the car or the road. Anyway, it's not significant enough to be annoying...my concern is if it gets worse or is an indicator of bigger/future problems.
Also, I began noticing this after the dealership installed new tires, rear breaks/rotors & fuel pump (recall) a few weeks ago.
I just noticed posts for similar, same condition. Has anyone found a solution?

Thank you all

Decided to wait until 50k miles service to have engine & transmission mounts replaced, which was last week. Unfortunately, minimal change (with eco on). That said, I've been driving in eco off mode since reading your post last year. With eco off the problem is near non-existent, acceptably smooth. Was hopeful to see a difference (in eco on mode) with new mounts but just happy to have the eco off solution.

@RJC in a previous comment seems to know about this issue and have reported that there is a common design flaw in all S560 with 4-Matic (or 2017 S550 with 9G transmission) when in idle, but he was referring to full stop vibration vs you both are talking about light vibration when moving at slow speeds (which I don't think is normal at all and I did not notice in any of the S560 I test drove ever). However, as far as vibration at full stop idle, i noticed a common issue in 9 out of 10 S560 I had tested that there is very very very minor vibration feeling as the car gets to full stop with gear staying in D position, and RJC was right that this is only noticeable on vehicles with the 9G transmission because on all these cars I tested as soon as the car moves, or as soon as the gear is moved to P or N, or if you rev the engine slightly with foot on brake, that tiny sense of vibration in steering goes away. Nothing crazy and I think 80% of owners would not notice it unless you are an OCD type of a guy lol. The point is, MBenz continues to prove that they are way behind in the transmission game compared to BMW. I feel it is more of a software tuning that anything. But again, if you are all referring to vibration while car is moving, this is different and I don't think is normal because every S560 I drove is dead silent and buttery smooth when it moves, but the only noticeable OCD type of steering vibration in some vehicles is apparent at full stop coming to a stop light with full brake and gear staying in D (mainly since the 9G transmission was introduced). Am not sure about 4Matic vs RWD but RJC said it is only apparent in 4matic and it's hard for me to remember all S560 is test drove while i was shopping.

I agree with the OCD comment. I'm really not the OCD type. My problem is this near perfect car has spoiled me. Any new little nuance or slight vibration/noise in this machine is amplified due to the high standard of pureness I've come to appreciate. The slight vibration I feel would likely never be noticed in any other vehicle I've owned. My W222 with 48.5k miles and 3 years old is still a solid all around 9.5, and the ownership/driving romance has not fizzled.

a forum member here said that this idle behavior is normal for all s560 awd and that there is no way around it once your ocd look for it.
i test drove many S560 AWD and found this in most of them
could that really just a “by design” flaw!!???
Question: Does the idle vibration goes away if you start moving the steering left/right while idling?

Haven't tried the side to side turning, I will.

Since it goes away with steering movement left/right, I don’t see how that is related to mounts. My hypothesis is that this might be related to axle componenets (which are only present in the 4-Matic) that fail pretty soon. When in idle, the movement CV axle/joins lose movements vibrates back into the steering. When steering is moving or the engine is rev’ed, the components settles and won’t move/vibrates, hence no vibration is sensed. I could be wrong, but it’s certainly a 4-Matic type of weird behavior. Could be a transmission bad tuning, but could also be bad CV joints that fail pretty soon in all S-class 4-Matics.
