Question Broken/Help: Rear plastic seatbelt guide ring

Hey all,
I snapped this rear plastic seatbelt guide ring on my 17' S550e and I need two things:
  • The part number so I can order a new one.
  • How the heck do you fix this? The ring is closed solid. Do I disassemble the D ring that holds the seatbelt in picture 3?

$51 for a cheap piece of plastic from China? I think they put the decimal point 2 places to the right by mistake.

My wonderful husband was detailing our 16 Maybach for a car show and broke the rear seatbelt guide JUST like yours. As far as the part NUMBER its been a couple years so I dont remember mine and to look it up on WIS is the same thing the dealer is going to do. What you will do it GO to the dealer with your cars VIN number and they will look up the part for your car with the specific COLOR to match yours. The cost was about $130 a couple years ago.

To replace the new part comes with covers that detaches right where your second picture is showing the metal pin (your existing loop does this too it just does not appear that way till you get the replacement part and see where it comes apart) and the plug that is in the car is surprising simple to remove by simply pushing DOWN and turn a quarter turn and it will release straight up/out.

When you get your new part you will see how the quarter turn to release works by looking at new part.

WITH THE NEW PART INSTALL IT IN THE SEAT BEFORE YOU RUN THE BELT IN THE LOOP. This will insure you install the part in correct orientation prior to putting belt loop together since its a ONE TIME assembly. When you remove the halves to your existing broken loop they are likely to break so thats why I say its a one time chance to assemble correctly.

If you have any other questions you can message me directly but I promise its a VERY simple repair. Only painful part is the 130 dollars for the new part.

PS I spent considerable time looking for a workable replacement for the broken part so as to reuse the original loop and I could NOT find anything with the correct color hence the 130 for a complete new part.

Thanks, @Katie22 How did you thread/slide the metal bar in picture #3 through the new plastic loop/ring thing. Did you have to dissemble the D shaped part in picture three?

Ha I tried to describe it for you but I will try a different way. If you look at the loop by the end with the metal pin you will notice there is TWO halves to the beige loop. The NEW part will come with these two halves APPART but can ONLY be assembled ONCE so thats why I said install the new ASSEMBLY in the seat FIRST before running the belt through it. As far as your OLD loop you will understand when you get the new part OR you can simply pry the two beige plastic covers loose and you will see the loop has an opening for the belt to go through.

This thread made me look at mine, and sure enough, there are 2 that are broken. My car is still under the factory warranty, think this is something they'll cover? I'm sure they will try and say its was abuse, or its my fault.

If it's still under the original factory warranty it should be covered. If it's a CPO or MB extended warranty, most likely not.

Yea thats a good deal When my piece broke that ARI only had Brown so if you can get beige then great. You will still have to separate the two plastic halves and they will break but you can epoxy them together.

I don't think getting just the plastic piece is going to work. The wya that D shaped seatbelt loop piece goes over the little plastic piece you'll never get a clean seat. We need part #350. My price for the center seat is $110USD in NorCal.

I broke mine right off the bat as I was installing the rear headrest cushions. I accidentally put my weight on one of these to support myself while putting the soft cushions on and "SNAP"!

I would never suspect this would come as a non-OEM product.

Going to the dealership today to get mine fixed. $250 including labor. Ridiculous. This should be a warranty issue as this breaks way too easy.

Mercedes S550 Maybach
Hi everyone,

I have a 2017 S550 Maybach and just broke this exact same part. I am terrible at finding parts online - any advice as to where I might find this part in chocolate brown? I am worried that A2228601022641B55 will be in the cream color, rather than brown. My dealer fed me a line and said they would need to replace the whole seatbelt assembly for over $1000 and wouldn’t give me the part number. Thanks!

Smile Three part numbers needed for the seat belt guide...

Having read through the thread about this and just ordered ALL the pieces that are needed, I figured I'd go ahead and list the part numbers here. Keep in mind the last 4 digits are the color code (mine is Nut Brown).

Belt Guide (the main loop part that plugs into the seat back) - A222-860-10-2264-8Q58
The two halves that lock the Belt Guide into a solid loop (otherwise it's incomplete and open-ended) - A222-868-07-2264-8Q54 and A222-868-08-2264-8Q54.

Just happened to mine. Ordered the parts from Mercedes. Anyone know how the piece in the seat comes out? Looks like it might just be a quarter turn and pull.

anyone?
