CPO Coverage Questions

Hello-
I have read the CPO documents that were provided with 2016 W222 I just purchased. I have a few questions, hoping someone here would definitively know the answer.

(1) one main reason I wanted a CPO was for air suspension which can be problematic. I’ve read in black and white that struts and shock absorbers are NOT covered. There seems to be a difference of opinion where most members say these have been covered under CPO.

(2) LED bulb behind door handles as well as the LED puddle lamp at base on side mirror housing. Could be perceived as wear and tear like any bulb, but LED adds a wrinkle as these typically don’t fail for years and years.

(3) the lid which covers the cup holders. I have designo piano black cover that rotates downward while cioholders are being used. Something is failing in the spring mechanism to put it back into place covering the cup holders. I can see this being considered “mechanical” but it is also “trim.” Thoughts on this? I know for experience with my E class how expensive trim is, and CPO covered my entire car where trim was not treated with adequate UV protectant. The kit came from Germany and was thousands of dollars in part costs alone, that’s before the cost of pulling the old and reinstalling the new. But it looked beautiful immediately thereafter.

last but certainly not least. The 1 year CPO limited that is provided free with all certified, immediately follows bumper to bumper../ is this year 1 CPO coverage more robust then the extra two years CPO I recently purchased thee as t commences when year 1 CPO is expired.
please advise. Thank you.

Most of this stuff is really dependent on the dealer and service advisor. I have had mixed results at different dealers for the same issues. I have a 2015 and it has been pretty much flawless since new. I did replace one air strut but I just did it myself for around 450 bucks. I think they did cover one of those door handle LED's though on CPO.

Thank you. Today I discovered the switch for trunk in driver door is broken. Surprisingly, it’s a cheaply made switch but doesn’t appear so until you discover it snaps out of place and is plastic vs the nice aluminum ones in the W221 series. Interestingly, the driver switch was replaced right before I bought the car so I’ll include that in my list of things for the dealer to check out and hopefully all will be covered by CPO.

The included CPO warranty coverage for the first year is identical to the optional 2nd and 3rd years.

Good luck, hopefully your dealer will be generous and take care of the things you listed. BTW, interested to see your comment about the lower cover in the console not coming up. My car has this problem as well, but I haven't done anything to fix it since I almost always have it open for drinks, masks, cell phone, etc.

Maybe someone can tell us how one frees up that lower half piece when you want to close it?

Not op but the issue you are facing sounds familiar, I might be thinking about a different thing but just incase this is indeed what you are talking about:

From what I was told the Air suspension is covered by CPO. I would assume that you have the same coverage as factory warranty bumper to bumper, make sure to make friends with your service writer than will be the best way to get everything covered.

CPO warranty coverage is far from factory bumper to bumper. It is named component.
