Installed Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's
A quick review of comfort and road noise only...
Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 20”
City driving 35 mph
Comfort: 9.5; dull thud over minor road imperfections
Quiet: 9.5
Highway 75 mph
Comfort: 9; very smooth
Quiet: 9; 1 db quieter than Pirelli RF’s (phone db app), might be mental optimism but I could tell a difference
For comparison…
Pirelli P Zero Run Flats 20” (previous tires)
City driving 35 mph (same route)
Comfort: 7, harsh over minor road imperfections but generally comfortable
Quiet: 9; never an issue with RF’s here
Highway 75 mph (same route)
Comfort: 8, obviously feel more "road" versus non-RF’s but still smooth
Quiet: 8; 1 db louder than AS4's
IMO the S560 with RF’s is more comfortable and quieter than my previous car, 2016 LS460 F-Sport with 19” Bridgestone Quiettracks (clearly MB car design & engineering)
Bridgestone Quiettrack 19” (LS460)
City driving 35 mph (same route, but about 5 mins after tires warmed up due to resting flat spots)
Comfort: 8.5
Quiet: 8.5
Highway 75 mph (same route)
Comfort: 8
Quiet: 7.5; 4 db higher than AS4’s; used a different phone app at that time (not a fair comparison); S560 with RF’s is quieter
Other notes:
Tire lip extends noticeably further out from the wheel versus the RF's (and thicker), which I like. Perhaps this will give a little more wheel protection against curb rash.
I'm also in a 4 season location so traction and tire integrity will be greatly improved during cold winter months versus summer RF's

People have posted on here about RFTs they consider to ride well on an S, which is great. I would love to be able to try their cars and see just good an RF can be. It may also be that we drive in differing conditions; the streets here are endlessly patched and years overdue for repaving.
Interesting that you found your S on RFTs rides better than a Lexus LS on Quiettracks. Many have praised the QTs on their S, so it seems to say the S is inherently a much better riding car than the Lexus..

Happy to read this! I have the AS4 sitting in my garage to go on my 20" wheels next week, but I am coming from the ContiSportContact 5P, extreme performance summer tires that are worn to the wear bars and very loud!

I came from a LWB LS460L with air suspension, which rides better than the F Sport. The S Class rides better, most notably at highway speeds where the LS tended to float and wander and the S Class just glides down the highway like its on rails. Noisewise, wind noise the S Class may actually have slightly more (S Class is considerably more sensitive to crosswind than the LS), but the S Class masks road noise much better than the LS.
Using a phone dB meter app I get about the same reading in the S560 I got in the LS, but on a calm day the S560 feels quieter. Windy day, less so.

Put the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4's on my '11 Lexus LS460 and couldn't be happier (19 inch). Smooth, quiet and overall good performance. They'll be going on '16 S coupe replacing the RF's when tires are needed. These go on the new base Vettes as standard equip. Check Costco prices. I paid $930 OTD with their Michelin discounts and came with a 45k mile warranty.

I appreciate your review , thanks for that . I am happy with Michelin Primacy as well. I have not used Sport Series but those must be comfy as well given your satisfaction on 20" wheels

Regular tires ride and handle better. Run Flats are more forgiving. I had so many blow outs with non run flats on a 19 inch tires and none on run flats. I will stick with run flats.

Been driving since 1959 and have never had a blowout. Regarding flats, the few I've had have been caused by nails and I've always been able to get home for plugging the tire or taking it to a shop for repair. I've never needed a spare. That's 62 years of experience with countless thousands of road miles. Michelin has always been my choice of tires.

62 years is a long time. I respect that. It may be that I am a bad driver. However you live in Florida, There are no pot holes in Florida. In the north east the roads not as good. For that reason I run run flats.

I had one blow-out since I started to drive in 1977, that was on my Infiniti Q45 running 245/35 19 Bridgestones going hard over an expansion joint, but made the mistake of not using XL load tire, never made that error again.. I plan to get PS4's when the Run Flats wear out, my CPO car came with new set of Michelin MXM Primacy which still have plenty of meat. For sure a XL 102+ load rating helps to keep the blow-outs to a minimum.
