I'm looking at a nice 2015 S550 that has the SplitView option. I've seen various reports that the CarPlay/AndroidAuto units won't work with SplitView? Can anyone confirm getting one way or the other?

Also, I assume no special problems integrating CarPlay/AndroidAuto with Burmester 3D High End audio option?

I bought a WJME-1 CarPlay Interface from Joyeauto Technology Ltd. I plan to install it into my 2015 S550, which has Splitview (which I have not yet used, have had the car for about 8 months).
Before buying the Joyeauto unit, I talked several times with sales and technical representatives, online, to be sure that the unit would work in my vehicle, with the Splitwiew setup. All assurred me that it will work.
Now, I have to find the time to get it installed, or to have it installed. Been busy, and have not found the time. Am looking forward to the iPhone integration, to a greater extent than currently.

I'm also curious about this. I doubt any system will work with the Splitview feature but they may work with Splitview switched off.

FYI to future visitors to this thread: Joyeauto just confirmed to me that their CarPlay/Android Auto unit is NOT compatible with SplitView cars, at least as of the date of this post. Sigh.

Still hoping someone might know if any other CarPlay/Android Auto solutions work with SplitView optioned cars?

The Joyeauto unit is the same as most of the other ones (they all rebrand the same unit with minor software tweaks). The reality is that if it’s not compatible, none of them likely are. You might want to look into the cupholder/tablet solution if we you really want CarPlay.

I also had split screen but what I did was unlocked the VIM first, which in turn disabled the split screen. I then bought a device to release my head unit to have the AUX screen before I installed my CarPlay. Now, I watch videos with my passengers and the split screen is no longer needed. It also made it so I didn’t take up a USB port. I then turned my useless ashtray into a charging station by buying the stowage version tray. I need and use all my USB ports. I then took an extra iPhone and plugged it into the USB port that came with the CarPlay module and keep it plugged in and stored deep within the center console. It is my in cars WiFi for the 4/5 G hotspot for running my iPhone for use with my Chromecast. As everyone is aware, Mercedes will no longer be supporting Internet on cars up to mid 2019, as of Dec 2022. I just got ahead of the s!*% storm. I also have a 256gb memory stick plugged into a free usb in the center console with over 2k YouTube music videos. Now, I’m never without entertainment.

@2014CL600 you are an inspiration. I'm going to have to do some research to understand everything you've written there, but you've given me hope that SplitView cars are not left without CarPlay (actually, I'm Android Auto, but same same) hope!
