Luckily the AS+3 comes in 245/40 R20 size and many more than the Turanzas actually. Might experiment with putting a 245/45 R20 on my Maybach since the suspension seems to be a lot higher than the regular W222. Any prior experience with this?

Those tires would be my choice, but they don't come in the rear size is the issue, 245s are the widest tire available and the rears are 275s. Getting them to fit the fronts is no problem. Does the Maybach not have a staggered wheel setup?

It actually does not have a staggered setup. And this is factory as I checked up on the S580 Maybach and there’s a staggered and non-staggered options for wheels. Same with the 18” rims on the 560’s not being staggered

But it’ll take 245/45s? The stock are 245/40 and 245/45 has a much larger sidewall than either 245/40 or 255/40.

They do, I’m just looking for ways to add sidewall and make it more comfy. I’ll ask the body shop I’m going to right now if the sidewall will affect the ride negatively. Getting all the Benz stars replaced with Maybach emblems.

I think you're going to buy way more trouble than you would gain in comfort. I had the P7 AS+ and P7 AS+2 on my LS460 in 245/40/19, and the ride was stellar.

Personally, I wouldn't replace the Benz logos with Maybach logos, that looks janky/ricerish to me. Leave it how MB intended.

The DWS06+ were amazingly quiet and smooth at 245/40 so I’ll tend to agree with you not to run any risks with having tires that are supposedly way comfier.

I have to disagree with this sentiment. The Maybach is just not at the same quality of any other Benz. It’s a separate class and I like the logo too looks way more baller and interesting. You pay double a regular S you want people to know from any angle it’s not a regular S tbh. Any extreme example of luxury like this price range also involves some form of eccentricism in the reason for purchase.

I just don't agree. Whenever I see people add badges to a car that it didn't come with in an effort to look "way more baller" I roll my eyes. I don't need people to know what I paid for a car vs another car.

I'm in an S Class group on Facebook, and whenever people post pictures of cars with this stuff added they get torn apart.

True luxury and quality doesn't have to scream at the top of its lungs. People who know what your Maybach is, will know with its OEM badging, and people who don't know...don't care. People who do know will see the Maybach badges, know you added them and think you're a tool. Its your car and you can do what you want, but it takes a really classy automobile and makes it trashy, IMO. Mercedes designers made a conscious decision to use Mercedes badging front and rear, and thats good enough for me.

It having the Maybach badges on the sides and Benz badges makes it look more after-market than swapping out the Benz emblems for Maybach emblems. Bad design choice from Benz imo. Just sounds like you guys are all about keeping it stock which isn’t uncommon and I’m a lot like that, but I simply disagree with this design choice of mixing badges it looks fake as hell.

Also, from owning it for a week and a half, people notice the Maybach badges and size of this behemoth way more than any regular S Class. So that part is also not accurate from experience. Especially with the hood emblem on it. Lots of thumbs up and stares.

I just don't see how something can look fake by being kept real...but like I said, you car your choice.

I think the issue is when people start slapping AMG and S63/S65 badges or even Maybach badges on a non AMG car. I do not see the issue with replacing the Merc badges with Maybach badges on a Maybach car. A little bit of personalization when done tastefully is what makes the car hobby fun. Tasteful is the key word here, I have seen some cars with 30 different badges on the car and it just looks ridiculous.

I find a problem with the tire rack reviews. Most of the time the ratings are for smaller lighter cars in the 16 to 18" sizes. This makes quite a difference comparing those sizes and brands of tires to the vehicle weight and size increases for the S class 20".

Oh,the Maybach badges. What's with that? The ironic part is the only people on the planet that recognize the Maybach badge is either a kid parking attendant or another Mercedes owner that thinks, WTF?

Come to South Florida you’ll see who recognizes it lol. Besides the badge the size of it is obvious compared to a regular S Class. Especially with the Maybach-specific rims. And putting the badges on a car that big and expensive looking makes it pretty obvious. I think wtf when I see someone with a Maybach that hasn’t swapped out the badges…it looks worse that way with contrasting badges

Currently have 28k miles on my Michelin PS AS4, about to order new tires. Been very happy with the PS AS4's but considering the DWS06's. Do you have any experience with the AS4's? If so, how would you compare the two? Mostly interested in quiet/comfort.

I have a 2016 S550 4Matic with 245/45/19 Front and 275/40/19 Rear. Can i run 265/40/19 in the front to match height "40" in rear, or will that tire be too wide for the 8x5 front wheel and will it cause tranny or differential issues? Hate looking at the taller size tire up front!!!!!

The key variable is tire diameter ... look for front and rears that are as close as possible to same diameter, and that will keep the wheel speed computer happy. Tire width and sidewall height carry other considerations but as long as diameter is close the computers/transmission/etc. are ok

I run michelin as4’s.
my car is 9mm lower and rear camber is not adjustable so i eat rear tires.
from what I understand these cars need to run xl strength tires.
i took the pirelli run flat and stuck on in the trunk for a full size spare, kills trunk space, but i have a full size spare, jack, pump and repair kit so I can keep rolling.

MB rule of thumb is no more than 3% difference in rolling diameter between front and rear tires on 4Matic cars. Not sure if it matters as much on RWD cars.

Whats a reasonable diameter ratio? Is -1.4% good enough that’s with a 265/40/19 front and 275/40/19 rear the front
