W222 S560 Lease Buyout
Hello all,
My lease is coming to end by Oct 30th for S560 and I am planning to buy it out as the car only has like 11K mile ( Thanks to work from home policy ). And residual value is about 56k.
Are there anything I should be take care of before deciding to buyout the lease.
Another question when I buyout do I get to keep the additional one year warranty from the original 4year/50k miles. Or Do I need to start shopping for the Warranty before buying out the lease. And what are the best place to buying the Extended warranty for the S Series.
Thanks for any advices.

You can extend the original warranty before turning it in. I understand it's better than the cpo but can only be extended by the original owner/ lesser BEFORE turning it in at the end of the lease

Good luck with the buyout process. I agree that you should buy it, as it is a great deal.
However, know that you must be patient. MBFS is very slow to act. It took me 2.5 months to complete the process (before I received my title). The State was pretty quick (1-2 weeks) once MBFS sent them the approval to release the title.

I just bought out my 2019 S560 with 16k miles 3 months ago. Buyout was $53k. Nothing needs to be done prior to lease end. The factory warranty stays in place and you do not need to purchase an extended warranty until you are close to the end of your factory term. I would do it before you get within 3 months just to be safe.

Since you leased the car, you are officially not the first owner; MBFS was and the new car warranty extension is only available to the first owner, not subsequent ones. The dealer makes the necessary transfers but wonder if they will do this at the end of the factory warranty.

But the $63k was from Audi, not MB. This is a problem with some companies (like BMW) restricting 3rd party buyouts. Did MB allow that or did you have to buyout the car first? If so, sales tax would have eaten that difference.

Did the dealer confirm this? Obviously the dealer is pushing to add the warranty at the time of buyout, which IMO is not a bad idea since it is fully refundable if not used or partially refundable if claims were applied against.
