Night View Assist!

I had hit a dear 2 times in the last 5 years where I live. Since I got my former BMW, it detected dears 5 times at night I never hit another since then. Now with my new-to-me S560, is it that effective too in detecting and highlighting animals at night, specifically dears? Should I continue having that piece of mind?
I keep mentioning my "former BMW" experience in many of my posts; sounds unnecessarily I know, but trust me it is a big change despite owning another W222 in the past. First day I switched to this S560 I felt a bit of buyer remorse just because of how different the tech is, drive assist, etc... but the luxury in the W222 is at a different level and it takes time to get used to it (another point is that I switched from an SUV M-Sport BMW to S560 sedan; another big change). Still getting my mind tuned back to Mbenz again.... Thought the tech in BMW appears to be the winner (at least for the 2018-2021 era)....

As for the views, for the one where in there is large night-view assist in the center screen with black screen and clean numbers around it: this is when you have Progressive View and then turn Night View Assist on.
For the other one wherein there is is the speedometers and RPM readings, this is the standard dashboard view with nigh-view assist on. I did not try it with sport mode because I don't like the yellow/orange theme.

Also in this video below, though it is from pre-facelift where the system was less accurate/predictable (camera position was different too) at minute 1:40 it shows exactly what happens when it sees a deer:

Pros:
1. It is very accurate, easily the most reliable "smart" system in this car,
2. Its detection threshold has an impressive distance, way before I have a chance to even know that a person is somewhere ahead,
3. It will pop-up sometimes (but not so reliably) if it thinks you are in danger of hitting a pedestrian; yet another thing that might save you from an accident.
Cons:
1. It has a noticeable lag. There is a delay between the road and what's shown on the screen,
2. It offers a rather narrow view ahead and also feels kinda "zoomed in" compared to what you see through the windscreen and the side windows,
3. You need to divert your attention, which is not great because of the previous two reasons.
In short, I feel it's nice and I use it especially when I'm tired or when the lighting on the road is not great. But it is not a replacement for safe driving and even when I have it turned on, I will use it in an auxilliary capacity, rather than try to rely on it.

I was also impressed when I first came across that . It had warned me against the dog way before I took notice of it
