Interior display question

Is the lcd display supposed to have a matte finish or crystal clear finish to it?

I have a a few scratches on mine. So I tried a suggestion from another thread on this forum.
I used the Novus 3,2,1 scratch remover and plastic polishipolishing kit. Only on an area the size less than a dime.
Although, it seems to have stripped the matte finish off and now it's crystal clear.

Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance.

Believe the matte finish is an anti glare coating much like a computer screen

Unfortunately, to fix it you'll have to polish off the coating over the whole display, or replace it.

i also saw he suggestion and thought it's just going to get rid of the anti glare, which is not too bad of a thing anyways. you should do the whole thing and then purchase a glass screen protector and maybe put some anti glare sticker on that?

I had this issue on my previous 2015 S550; dealer solution was to replace the entire screen. However, I tried to order a protective film from Amazon; that helped to hide most of the scratches behind that film as the adhesive kina filled those areas and helped to level off the scratches and light reflection.

with my new S560 now, I learned to never ever try to clean the screens with anything other than a fresh soft super fluffy microfiber towel. I use ONR solution as a lubricant at very very small percentage (1-to-512 or 1-to-256) concentration with distilled water which works so well as a glass cleaner and lubricant at the same time while also collecting dust and contaminants. With screens not being a touch screen, I rarely ever need to clean them anyway (the AC filters seem to do a very good job in not introducing dust into the cabin)

Thank you. By any chance do you have a link to the film from Amazon?
