2010 S550 4matic front SAM
Greetings from a long-time reader and 1st time poster. I purchased my S550 in January after much research. It had 76,000 miles and from all appearances, well maintained. I have a very reputable indy mechanic who specializes in German vehicles. While on a drive, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree with warnings. In short, the car became undriveable. I had it towed to the garage, and they found that water had intruded into the front fuse box on the firewall corroding the terminals. They replaced the box and front SAM but they could not flash the old to the new with their software. They have another source who had the same result. Car was towed to the "local" Mercedes Dealer who also couldn't code the SAM. Thinking a bad SAm, they replaced with another new one...no go. In talking with the Service rep, she said that the only one who could do this is MB Germany. That was 3 weeks ago and despite several attempts to get this done, it appears MB Germany has put them on ignore. Essentially what the SR said was, your car is 12 years old, and you are not a priority. I don't know why, but this shocks me. Has anyone else experienced this? And does it sound legit that only MB Germany can program a front SAM? Rant over...

You are in the wrong forum.
And this is not usual, a manual start of a front SAM is not even that hard.
