Interesting Costco has few choices right now, I have my original MOE Michelin MXM's that came with the car april 2019. I know these are runflats but I really like the ride of the car with no complaints. I am getting ready to do a long trip and will pick up a kit now that everyone has me paranoid, no way to fit a spare in my S550e tiny trunk. But i have to say I have put like 10k on these tires and they are well above 60% tread life still, they are wearing very well. I only run Michelin or Bridgestones on my 4 cars (my old 300ZX is only 16" so take best tires available which were Bridgestones) and I don't see moving off Michelin's just too many good trouble free miles.
If you like the ride of the car on those you will love it on non runflats...
Don't get bound up in brand names. Lots of great tires out there from multiple manufacturers. The Pirellis I have replaced the previous set of non runflat Michelin MXM4 I had on there and they are superior in every way.
For sure these MXM are not the best tires I have ever had, the Michelin's Pilot Supersports I had last non-runflat on my Q45 were way better albeit much shorter lifespan. I had terrible luck with short wear and 2 failures with Nitto, Yokohama and Cooper in past and when I swapped to Michelins never any problems. But I realize non-RFT will be great but not wiling to throw away tires with 70% treadlife still.

If you go to the Michelinman website, you can order pretty much any of their tires and have them sent to your local Costco. You actually buy them from Costco. That’s what I’m doing. Only problem is that installation appointments are running 3-4 weeks out. Based on TireRack reviews, I’m going to try a set of the new Primacy Tour A/S on my 19” wheels.

I had those and sent them back. They have a very weird sidewall design on the fronts that don't match the rears, and they were way louder than I thought they would be. The Pirellis I have now are much better.
Here are pictures of them on the car, you can see the fronts have those weird lips that make the tires really look odd, and totally different than the rears

I don’t know that the appearance would have bothered me, but you have had all the various tires I have been considering, so I’m going with your advice. I have cancelled the Michelins and have ordered the Pirelli P Zero A/S Plus 3 tires. Installation set for Monday. I realize this is the newer version of the tires you liked the best, but TireRack seems to think they will offer the best ride quality and be the most quiet, so I’m going for them. Thanks!
I finally replaced my run flats with non run flats MXM4. Wow! i can barely hear the road noise. I wish i had done this sooner and not waited. I had them installed at DisCount Tire. They have roadforce. The run flats had shimmy despite being balanaced so many times by them. These are so smooth - wow!

Got them. Very quiet, but the ride quality is not as improved as I had hoped for, over the Pirelli Cinturato P7 run flats that were original to the car. If they are anything like the Continental non-RFT I put on my S580, the ride will improve as more miles are put on them. They are beautiful tires. Thanks again for your assistance.

In the back of the van to be shipped back:
That detail on the front tyres is the " kerb protection rim " to try to help prevent kerbing your wheels, on some tyre selling sites you have the option to choose with or without the protection rim, I have used both versions on my Jaguar XJL over the years. If you ordered all four at the same time then I would think it was an ovesight on the sellers side to send two with and two without , they should have at least asked you for which version you wanted.

No such option, Michelin doesn't intend those tires to be used in a staggered fitment scenario. I discussed it with TireRack after it happened and there is no option of sidewall type and its just a design difference between the two sizes.

Ride definitely improves as they break in, I had the same experience. They are good looking tires I agree! Run lower pressures too, I can tell you from experience it doesn't impact treadwear

ah, interesting how options differ different sides of the water, not sure about michelin over here options but dunlop and a few others over here do have the option available
I run 33. Just aired them up this morning actually they lost air because of the cooler temps.
Saw your post on another thread and reduced to 35psi (run flats) ride is much smoother, thank you.
Although I am a little confused about the TMPS readings (pulled from me connect API) . Compressor readout and TMPS readouts rarely align. Is this normal? Any recommendations for a digital gauge?
It’s funny, I was reading this thread, while I was standing in line at Discount Tire. In the irony is that I have the Pirelli P Zero All season plus currently in runflat and just ordered the Continental DWS 06+ non-run flat. Looking very forward to getting the Contis on my car for the smoother ride and the improved traction in winter on the days where I drive when there is snow. Nothing against the Pirelli’s. They were honestly the quietest runflat tires I’ve ever had, I typically take run flats off of any car I have at delivery. I did not feel the need to pull these tires until they wore out.
QUOTE=S_W222;8852185]If you read through historical forum threads for these tires sizes (whether it's for the W222 or another Mbenz or even another brand), you will ALWAYS find good reviews for two specific options that I am yet to see anyone reporting any issues with unlike other options; those are:
1. Pirelli Pzero All Season Plus; and 2. Continental Extremecontact DWS06+.
I went with Continental Extremecontact DWS06+ for the W222, and also read excellent reviews and test-results about the Pirelli's ones. I would not consider any other tire outside those two (unless there is a reputable one with foam "sound insulation" that other's have tried for the W222. Based on photos, I like the side geometry of the Pirelli (they look nicer when cleaned), but I feel the Continental is the softer and more quite option based on reviews. I would go with Continental again, but would also take the Pirelli's if the Continental aren't available. Price is relatively similar for both (~1100-1500 depending on where you get them from, and sale events)[/QUOTE]
I've been using the Accutire MS-4020 for 15+ years. They now sell the MS-4021 which appears the same to me. These are the top two tire gauges, according to Consumer Reports:
Hope that helps!

Quiettracks
I personally dislike the harshness of the perilli runflats that were on my car. I found them jarring at any pressure i tried... they seemed good when very new and not to my liking after some tread wear.
As far as my own purchases. I have only purchased Michelin since the 90s. And have been satisfied with him throughout
I have stated another thread that for the first time. I purchased a bridgestone and in this case. It was a quiettrack simply because I love the S cabin Quietness on my S550 and the Bridgestone offering claimed to be engineered to compliment the none ICE car noise characteristics.
I have been extremely satisfied with the quiet tracks. They are really quiet and they ride really well. I never thought that I would move away from michelin...i literally do not hear the car rolling on most roads
I ordered the pump and repair for a large tire GLS s u v... i tested at 70ish seconds from completely flat to 35 psi....
SO far so good

I just replaced the Pirelli's on my car with a set of Vredestein's.
Huge difference. The noisiest thing in the car now is the air rushing across the outside mirror. I don't know if Vredestein's last as long as say Michelin, as I think they are softer. But they are very quiet and very comfortable.

I’ve put about 800 miles on the new Pirelli tires and they are, indeed, giving me an excellent ride quality, handling and reduced noise. I’m very happy with the tires AND with the CAR! I cannot begin to tell you how much I am enjoying my S560 compared to the S580. And I’m not talking about the huge issues I had with the S580, I’m just talking normal vs. normal. The W222 is a much better car, in my opinion.
