W222 Maybach complete makeover. A resurrection of style.
Today's post is about a W222 Maybach Pre-facelift version.
Quite a few times I'll greenlight a vehicle body kit upgrade, in order to blow some new life into it.
As many things, cars become outdated and it's okay to get something new, but sometimes, they can also gain sentimental value, in which case, being dated is part of the charm.
You see, upgrading a "classic" is like renovating ancient, beautiful architecture. You have to follow up on the original style, and what could be better as a follow up, than a retrofitted facelift version, of the same model?
The pack includes even headlights and taillights, so as the title says, it is a complete makeover, with 20" wheels included, all genuine, from the largest parts, to the smallest screw.
This always reduces my heart rate, because genuine is as close to perfect fitment as you're ever gonna get.
In the following photos you're gonna see a lot of chrome, matched perfectly with piano black paint, and in a world of carbon and matte (no that there's anything wrong with that), it's a breeze of fresh air,
Let's have a look:
I am not a fan of tuning my cars up to that level, but this looks like serious good quality work if it's truly all original parts. The only thing I would NOT have done though is to slap Maybach logo... any Mbenz fan boy would know this is a not a Maybach (same for the V12). I really love those wheels!!!!

I too appreciate all the work done here and it does look beautiful, but I would have gone about this in a completely different way. I understand the sentimentality thing, but it seems wholly impractical to me. I would have simply sold off the old car and bought a nice 2019 or 2020 S650. These cars are out there, some with amazingly low mileage, at bargain basement prices. I have never been a fan of repainted cars. It is virtually impossible to duplicate the lasting quality of a factory paint job. I would like to know what this makeover cost the owner.

If this car did not have a black exterior, I would own it. Look at the mileage & price! Just swap out the grill and it’s the full face lift. Astonishing!

There was a nice Maybach on cars and bids just a few weeks ago that did not get more than 60K or so. It has mileage in the 30-40K range if I recall, not that clean from inside, but man these Maybach cars are dropping in prices nowadays like nothing else. Not sure why...... Probably u need the right buyer and the right selling platform yet with extremely low mileage to attract buyers. If I go the W222 for the 3rd time again (which I might) I would certainly go the Maybach approach and keep it as a garage queen. A V12 vehicle is a must have in my garage and I am still looking for either the BMW M760 V12 or a W222 Maybach V12.... I will pull the trigger on either of these as soon as tomorrow morning if I find the one. In this process, I am pretty much solid on NOT scarifying any single option or color combos from the ones I want as am planning to keep this toy for as long as I live, hence I still did not find the ONE. I would even pay above market price if I find the one, but man, those are rare with all options and color combos I have in mind, especially when looking for one with all boxes checked. ...

agreed, if it is all OEM parts and the paint job is high end (has to be) then the project would seem illogical VS selling the car and adding that $ to the cost paid for the renovation … it would seem that a newer maybach would be more logical
Especially when also considering that there is no vehicle theft tracking, emergency response, no apps, no concierge, no factory android auto nor CarPlay, along with a few other pre-facelift omissions.
This has to just be a labor of love project which I do respect, and the car looks great
