White wasn't my first choice, but its grown on me a lot. I wish it was a brighter white that didn't look cream-ish in low light. Diamond White is being replaced this year by a new pearl white that is supposed to be brighter.
I do like how clean and sharp the car looks in nice bright light or under discharge lights

Back to the original intent of the thread...I bought my car almost a month ago but have been too busy to wash it while the weather was warm and sunny. Nice chilly day in the PNW today, but with sunshine predicted for the next few days, so I decided to give it a bath and take a couple photos with my phone

Same here when we picked up our BMW 5-series PHEV... We had to take the white one just for the options it has; and later, I didn't realize how much we liked the BMW Alpina white on the car... Easy to maintain, gorgeous under the sun.. I am a fan of the Alpina White. The Mineral White Metallic on BMWs is the one that looks slightly creamy but still look good too. Their newer cars are nicer in darker colors though at least for the sake of front end design, specifically the bumper.
Yeah for me it was like:
"I really don't care for the white"
"We can take $20,000 off of this one and beat your best lease deal by $150 a month"
"White it is!"

I can't say I'm a huge fan of white, but I couldn't bring myself to buying another black car. After close to a dozen years of black cars I was worn out, too hard to keep clean!! This white looks better in person than in pictures, but doesn't hide dirt nearly as well as the Selenite Grey, but I got tired of waiting/shopping and bought this one. Plus it's loaded, yay!! Looks really nice in person, not as pretty as a clean black car, but easier to keep it looking decent.

Its about tact. Just because you have an opinion on how somebody does something doesn't mean you should share that opinion. Its not art, its not a photography forum, its a picture of the guy's car. You could have been kind or simply said nothing, but you chose to be rude and toxic. Be kind.
Let's back to the topic...

A W222 S-Class looks good in white as it brings out lines on the body but I feel the car looks a bit less stately in a light color, including silver. One of those models that truly looks best in black or similar dark colors. Ours was Magnetite black. Classy car

For some reason I don't care for the S Class in silver, I'm not sure why...222 or 223. I love other big sedans in silver. IMO the best compromise color for the 222 is Selenite Grey.

It looks better in darker colors no question, but they're just way harder to take care of. Too hard for me at this stage of my life.

Selenite grey is fine but I was so disappointed that they took away the Palladium Silver alter the transition to the facelift W222. Owning both colors on two W222s, Palladium Silver has much much better presence than selentite. Palladium silver is probably the nicest color I’ve seen on an S-class. Don’t understand why they dropped it with the facelift. I didn’t like my facelift W222 selenite as much as I liked the Palladium on my previous W222.
Its not really that I love selenite as a color, its a good compromise. Its darker and richer, but not so dark its hard to take care of. For instance on the 223 I like Graphite Gray better, but its going to be a lot harder to take care of. I want to be able to run a car through a carwash and not stress about it.

I see a lot of them running around with the hood ornament all askew and I wonder how they can stand that!

Everything I owned for many years was Black. Never considered any other color. Then We came across a deal for the wife on a white car several years ago. Big difference in keeping it clean. We dont do automated car washes. A year later I was due for a new truck and switched over to white. It was a new world. I'm also in Fla. I used to always say i'll never own rental car white!!! LOL So I always get tri coat white or Diamond white. Going forward and being in Florida it will be white!! Funny as in my HOA I notice neighbors who always switch colors and have no preference then the households that every car is white or black!

We are a spicy lot this morning.
We we are on the internet. Where we find any and all. Much better to ignore the trolls. Bet there is an ‘ignore’ feature on the forum so those who are obnoxious can be easily tuned out.
Or one could drop a note to a moderator asking for the thread to get cleaned up.
Thanks for the Car ****. Need more of that up North as the weather goes to heck and many of you live mostly in darkness for the next several months.

Lots of carwashes leave the hood ornament askew, you just get out and adjust it.

The swirls and drips and marks and all on a black car that’s been taken through carwashes just drive me nuts. That’s why I go with light colors, mine aren’t show cars either and I use a carwash.

One reason that my next car regardless of the type will likely be white or anything similar to silver palladium… I want to take my car to carwashes. By the way, even with full PPF, it would still develop swirl marks that shows up in dark paint, that u later need to remove by parking in the sun or washing with direct hot water, so even with full PPF, i still don’t take my daily drive car to car washed (or I wouldn’t). My other cars are either grey-ish and white, and they all go the car washes just fine with little damage that can be seen from short distance. The Carbon-black X7 had a lot of scratches from the previous owner so I let that one pass through car washes as it is already far from show room condition (paint condition wise). My daily-drive is always in show-room zero-scratches and full ppf, and because it is dark I still can’t take it to car washed hence the PPF was the best compromise along with hand-washing. Sometimes it’s a hassle (am just realizing that as winter is about to hit).
