Experience with Euro height S222?

I have a new-to-me 2020 CPO S560 that I'm loving. I'm now getting set up with Benzninja to do some tweaks (ILS+ is priority). Debating the option to lower to European height (1" lower). Anyone have experience and thoughts? My 911 is about 1" lower than stock and I kind of regret it. The ride really isn't as nice, and I treasure my smooth S-class ride! That said, perhaps it doesn't make a big difference? Why is US higher anyways? Are our roads that much worse? Potential longevity improvements on the air suspension at the European height? Just curious. I searched but didn't find good answers so apologies.

There is not really a euro height for the S-class in general.

Other models with springs likely have a reduced ride height if the sport (AMG) package/line is on the car but then the drop is only 10mm. Never 1” on any factory setting.
The car lowers anyway if in Sport.

It's between 12-17mm depending on model
We now use the original maps OEM Mercedes made when possible
It seems a little but visually amazing
Changes nothing in terms of comfort
That we can change also, using OEM maps

Benzninja just did the airmatic lowering for my GLE580, and the car looks absolutely fantastic. I’ll be getting my S63 done soon along with converting from AMG airmatic in comfort, to actual 550/560 comfort. While you are in there, be sure to explore all of the other coding options he has to offer.

Go for the lowering, drive around and if you hate it you can always get it reverted back to original with a few clicks of a button.

Not sure what model you are preferring to. The W222 S-class models I have driven in Germany had the same ride height as in the US. Naturally all ride height is adjustable but I don’t think that was the question.

Congrats on your S560 purchase! I recently used BenzNinja for ILS+ and a few other items... very satisfied. I opted against the lowering. As it is, and even as careful as I am, I still end up occasionally scraping off tiny particles of something German from underneath my W222, when going through low-speed parking lot maneuvers. So I didn't want to go any lower.

thank you all for the recs. I will probably try it and if I don't like it, set it back. I do appreciate the difference between the 911 and the S560. With the former using coil-over suspension, stiffness increases with the decreased travel; whereas the later utilizes air suspension so only the travel changes. thanks again. loving the new (to me) car.

I did it and the car does ride a little different slightly rougher but I do feel like it handles better especially in Sport Mode. The ILS+ is amazing and even my wife can see what it is doing and is blown away by it.
