I use an OLD Milk crate.

The BBQ (20lb) tanks fit tight inside and tend not to tip over.
IF inmy truck I put them in the bed and use straps to hold the milk crate to side of truck where ties down hooks are.

In my MB i use the cargo next and stretch to fit over front edge of milk crate to secure it from moving as it is jammed against rear edge of trucnk space.

Easy peasy.... Get them refilled to 20lbs propane weight at local hardware store for $18 out the door...
Way better then them exchange tanks which only give you 15lbs for something like $30 depending on store.

Look they have propane powered vehicles all over europe and some places in USA.
Propane buses, garbage trucks and UPS even tried it.

NO more dangerous then gasoline in your tank and probably less dangerous then some lithium ion EV battery potential for fire.

I put mine in the trunk standing up. Admittedly, the refill happens at a gas station about 2 miles from my house. But I stand it up and put it in the trunk. If I take my wife’s Range Rover, I do the same thing.

I use my Porsche when I need to transport propane.

It’s a 2012 Cayenne with 125,000 miles! 😂 (but I am very fond of it!)

Every time I see the title of this thread, when it appears on the new reply list, I chuckle. Even though the thread title tells me not to. Out of respect for the OP, I followed his wishes initially, but, A lot of very entertaining posts keep getting added.

Even though we have a 2019 E450 wagon, I rarely look at this forum—mainly because the wagon has been so absolutely rock solid. Anyway, reading this thread on a lazy Sunday morning, I see that the rear seats in the E Class sedans no longer fold down? Is this right or are the fold down seats an option? In our last E350 sedan, a 2016, the folding rear seats were part of the Premium Pkg. No more?

This is the W222 S Class forum, that’s what the OP has.

You missed the reason for the post. We used our 14 year old BMW and put the tank in the back seat on floor. Because it was an old car and it fit well by moving the seat back.

Then we got the BMW with white leather. Not my idea. But I’m desperately trying to teach my husband how to take care of it. Even with towels I can see the tank rubbing against the white leather, just maybe.

If you put it in the S class you’d be sitting a bit farther back because of the size. I have a comfort box in the trunk but people say it should fit standing up.

I had to post because my butler is on vacation and I don’t know what to do.
