W222 Heated seats problem
Hi just wondering do any of you smart people on here have any idea on this fault. My 350 S Class drivers side heated and ventilated seat doesn’t work. When button pressed the red light comes on for about 2 seconds then straight off. Could it be detecting a short circuit ? The car has only covered 30,000 miles. All other heated seats work and there is power to the door as the seat reclining switches etc work. Has anyone come across this before? Any help would be really appreciated

Recommend lifting the seat all the way up with the adjuster and going under there and checking EVERY wire connector. I mean it would be my way to disconnect every one of them and reconnect them and see if that solves the problem. Since the seat often moves the wire connectors from the floor to the seat are ALWAYS suspect. That goes for a LOT of electrical gremlins in the car since the computer modules are often under the seats.
Ill give you one simple example. On my 18 AMG GTC the steering wheel power up and down stopped working. Hooked up the scan tool and the switch was working. I remembered that the module was under the seat and I disconnected the connectors and surprise all was back to working order.

Always check for codes when there is a problem with the car. The amount of information available is become more specific as the developmet of the onboard systems becomes more complex.

Yes very true to check for codes But if this person does not have a scan tool then I still say check the connections under the seats since they are VERY often a problem.

Also look at the wire under the seat as well. As I said the seat moves often and stuff can get under the seat and damage the wires as well.
