2020 S560 Engine temperature & coolant level - Check Coolant Level
I got the warning "Check Coolant Level" this morning. Car has been in the garage not driven for a few days. It's 4 years old with only 15,000 miles still. I drive it 3-4 times a week. Outside temps have been high. I drove the S560 to the dealer in 30 minutes and they topped it off. The car was in for service just a month ago so I would think they did/would check the coolant. I'll see if the warning comes on this afternoon when I drive home. I don't see significant (or any) leaks on the garage floor but I understand there's an engine pan that collects most coolant leaks?
I tried to find some way to read the actual engine temperature and I see an old thread about it, but I can't find a way to do that. I have looked through the owner's manual. I have an indicator on the dash but I can't find a way to see a number in F/C? I've looked through all the menus. My car today started with engine temperature about 25% then went up to 50% while driving. Is that normal? I always thought it stayed around 25% but maybe I'm thinking of the starting temperature.

Be careful with this. See this thread.

Running coolant temperature should be somewhere around 90 degree C. If it isn't numerically defined I would think that it would hover around the 50% point.

I guess the older models have the reading right under the RPM Gauge. I’ve seen mine read 190F, 195F and 200F when car is at running temp. It only does intervals of 5 I think.
