Car wash question
OK, I'm stumped.
I have looked through the manual as well as trying to search settings.
When I go into the car wash, the front and rear cameras open on my 2018 S450.
I would prefer they stay closed, so the doors don't get damaged.
What am I missing?
My 2020 GLE450 has a car wash setting so the cameras don't open.
How do I accomplish something similar on my S?

The third button, when you press it it doesn't matter how close you are to an obstacle, vehicle will not chime, when you press it and if the PARKTRONIC is off, the light will illuminate (Disclaimer: as long as the light is not broken).

Thanks… I don’t plan on doing many car washes but now I know. My button is on the center console (2020).

Yes, that is the button I pressed. Turns off the ultrasonic sensors.
My cameras did not open this time.
And yes, I hate car washes too. In the warmer months I hand wash only.

Still need to make sure you turn it back on when you are done though, don't want to have assistant systems off when you need them.

Car washes are fine as long as they are hand wash and you don't go through with the horrible beater brushes, but agreed nothing like a hand wash. I will use this on the odd times that I go to commercial washes

There’s nothing bad about the “Touch-less” automated car washes. The Mercedes Dealer that I use washes my car every time they service it, even if it’s just an inspection. They do offer a hand wash but unless your car is already clean it’s not a better wash. I prefer a strong jet wash under the car as it is provided with the brush-less (or touch-less) wash. Some of the older automated washes have problems (at times) with wide tires and if there are wheel guides to the sides not just the rear to push the car and keep it straight through the wash. In those cases low profile tires might not protect the wheels.
