Hi, has anyone actually bought a starter battery, "primary" from an Autozone / Napa type store? It is for a 2018 S450 and if was not an exact match, what specs do you consider exceptionable to purchase?

I bought an H8 for the 2106 at WalMart for $169 ... working fine going on two years ...

 

I bought one from Costco, Interstate. Exact fit and worked perfectly. Less than $200. Easy.

Did Costco install it for you and dispose of the old battery? If so and If I need a battery I'll go to Costco. I found last time the Battery went in my 2019 E class that nobody except the dealer would install the battery. I guess they don't like working on Mercedes around here at any shop other than the dealer it seems.

 

I installed it and returned the battery to Costco for the core refund. There are videos out there, it's easy, remove the trunk deck and the battery is right there. No battery programming needed either. One video I watched was a guy in a lab coat, good video.

Edit... found it, for a 2015, same process.

 

I've done on both my cars ... good exercise, you can skip the gym that day ;-)

Pretty cold where I live in MN! Time for a new battery in my S450 too, Is it confirmed a h8? Do the 450s and 560s have the same batteries? I've looked all over at every parts store and all they have information for is the AUX battery.

 

Chrisnbig, what did you find out? does the A8 fit s450?
