My 2018 S450 Matic does not work iPhones with USB-C connection for CarPlay. One of the options is to use a wireless adaptors (Ottocast or similar). Has anyone in the forum had any experience or suggestions?

Your 2018 COMAND system only works with wired CarPlay, and it requires the old Lightning cable. It doesn't recognize a USB-C cable even with an adapter.
A wireless dongle is the easiest fix. The Ottocast U2-Air or CarlinKit 3.0 are popular, reliable choices that members here use. Just plug it into your USB port, connect your phone via Bluetooth once, and it should work automatically after that.

You may have the wrong cable for USB-C. Your cable needs to be made for data + charging and if the cable is not designed to carry data, you will not get CarPlay. Get the correct cable and you should be good to go with wired CarPlay.

USB-C cable transfers data/photos from iPhone to Windows laptop, so it must be the adapter.
This one worked. Pretty slick. I tried connecting my wife’s phone and think it worked too. We’ll find out when on a drive when I can play with it more, but at least one phone at a time works. Both are iPhones.
