Drive Belt Replacement
I had my car at the dealership for some issues and they recommended drive belt replacement. The S550e only has one belt and they wanted $880 for the job. I don't know if the belt was replaced when I bought CPO (doubtful), they say every 5 years. Thoughts on how urgent this is and I know the part if $35 bucks so for sure would get my indy to do the job vs. stealership!

That belt is urgent when it cracks or squeals. Check it yourself if it looks glazed or has deep cracks, get it done soon. But $880 is insane. Any good independent shop can replace it in under an hour. Just make sure they use a quality belt.

Thanks I did a check on it and looks pink and healthy to me and I thought that $880 for totally crazy too. This being my first MB I have learned that things are far more expensive than my Infiniti/Nissan cars from the past, but that seemed crazy, especially since there is only 1 belt! I never replaced my Infiniti Q45 belts (1997 car bought 2001 sold 2019) and my old 84' 300ZX is on its second set.
Thanks I appreciate the quick response and pretty much what I thought, the belt BTW cost $35 on FCP Euro! The local dealership are very good at getting you to replace needless parts, they talked me into new brake pads when I figured out AFTERWARDS that I had 50% life left in them. It was only there because of my AC issue that my local indy wasn't going to be able to deal with at the time when they presented me with $11,000 worth of work (AC, Motor Mounts, Value Covers and the belts). AC and Motor mounts were covered under warranty but because they charge $329 an hour (my dentist pretty sure doesn't charge that much) I still was out of pocket for almost $900.

OP for $880.00 they'd best be doing a tensioner or something along with.
Replacing that belt is not particularly difficult. Draw a picture of how belt routing happens. Take your time.
