Front looks good, rear end will need some getting used to.
I have a feeling the AMG-line will look better, I know that's a controversial opinion around here but I'm not a fan of all the fake plastic on the "luxury" style lower intake. As for the rear, will have to see in person, it looks good on my CLS (except for the stupid US bumper extensions that Merc has to add), but will need some more photos and in a better color. Interior will also be a have to try it out decision for whether its good or not. Hard to top the W222, its like the E39 5-series, hard to get better than the best, however I do like the replacement of I6's over V6's, a much better balanced and smoother engine. Hopefully this car won't end up like another W220.

I've read that some of the autonomous tech isn't quite ready and will be enabled in Germany around springtime. Of course the U.S. may not see capabilities turned on for quite awhile, depending on what the capabilities are and the regulatory environment.
I like the rear end. Looks much better in those photos than in the earlier ones. Looks sleek.
The front end is a bit busy. I don't like the way they did the area where the hood meets the grille. It is like on the E300. They should have styled it more like the E63.
Also the radar patch on the grille is pathetic design. They could have replaced one central radar, with two on each side embedded in the bumper. That would have given a much cleaner look.
Awaiting new S Class model: W223.
Will it be be designated 2021 or 2022?
Love our current rides and the especially the twin turbo V-8s.
However, if we have to jump to an AMG to get a V-8 I may buy another 2020.
We got caught in past model changeovers only to be disappointed in long delays for the introduction and the desired model (4-Matic).
And, much prefer to avoid introductory year gremlins.
No you won't have to jump to an AMG to get a V8. There will be a S580 V8.
Honestly in the brown and beige colors the interior is growing on me. The screen is still a little polarizing but in real backgrounds rather than the darkly lit studio from previous official photos it blends in a little better. I am glad to see that there will be many real wood trim options instead of the sea of black plastic I originally feared (looking at you Audi A8). If I had an unlimited budget I would look into getting a Designo Manufaktur white interior and the black open pore trim with aluminum inlays. The red and carbon looks extremely tacky and I have no idea why they would give these options in any S-Class not to mention a non-AMG.
