It's a nice ride for sure. Just not as polarizing as the W222 was when it came out

That is exactly right.
And in 3 to 5 years we'll all be like "Best car I ever had!".

Beautiful looking car. It has exceeded my expectations and I had major doubts. Still would rather have a last year mode W222.

I like the front of the car with the AMG bumper. On the other side those tail lights design is horrible imo. There are two things that I don't like about the interior. Both displays and the vents above the Tesla display. From all of the leaked pics I saw, those 4 air vents above the screen look not centered. Reminds me of the interior of the W140.

Amazing presentation this morning. The new W223 makes the W222 seem obsolete. I look forward to seeing the new model in person.

I disagree...the W222 definitely is not going to age much once these new ones hit the road.

Gorgeous car overall. The rear end will grow on me the rear lights are rather monochromatic. I did not expect to see black rims on a non-AMG S-Class available on the AMG Line but that interior is gorgeous no debate.

Simply amazing, still can't get over that tablet but that won't deter most people.

Curious, how much and which tech will be optional? Any insight?

I am usually not a fan of lighter interiors, but WOW! This looks very good and makes the screens look more acceptable.

Looks great. Love the interior and the tech. Nonetheless I’m waiting for the EQS.

Quote: I didn't know they were going to call the V6 model "S500". What a disgrace to the legacy of the 500 SEL S500 brand.
I don’t see the issue. The old naturally aspirated V8 was a shadow of the engine that the twin turbo inline 6 is.

Here’s my take on the w223:

1. the interior is beautiful. One exception; the split screens. You lose the integration and continuity that is present with the w222. When I get in my car I feel encapsulated and in a cockpit. I don’t think that feeling will be there with the broken up, non wraparound dash.

2. the front end looks good being longer wider And lower, thus giving it a more aggressive stance. While still being elegant. But, I will miss the masculine statement front end of the current w222. Currently, there’s no mistaking a w222 for a CLS or E class. I fear that with the new body language, the “mistaken identify” will be more common

3. the rest is nice overall, I do feel like the rear looks very much like the current s class coupe which is nice. The taillights and long chrome bar, eh. That part will have to grow on me.

3. the side profile! I was a bit skeptical at first because I love the current body line on w222 it gives the car such a clean presence. I do like how the new body line trails to the trunk and sort of lowers out at the rear. The rear bumper side profile gives me original CLS Vibes, and I like it!

4. Overall I think it’ll be a nice car, but the originality of the w222 I fear is gone. When I pull up in my w222, folks know it’s an S class...even folks who don’t know cars well, know you’re in the granddaddy of them all! With the new S I just don’t think that statement and presence will be there.

here is my w222 that I absolutely love. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s mine! I’m 28 not 82, so I wanted a bit more aggressive look but a classy aggressive.

Me too, not because the W223 is bad looking or anything, but more because I want an EV.

Are you kidding? The W222 has already aged looking at this thing.

I agree, W222 is still beautiful but outdated. I'd be ripping my hair (what's left of it) out if I just bought or had a W222 on order right now.

W222 will always be considered one of the most beautiful S class references. W223 maybe superior is every way, but not in styling IMO.

Funnily, I prefer the rear to the front. I don't like how they've surrounded the grille into the front clip and how the hood no longer meets the top of the grille, I hate that design scheme on many cars. The rest of the car I think looks good.

I just cannot stand the screens in the interior, or the low dash. I hate tacked on screens, and I don't like touchscreens, hate the tacked on gauge cluster with no binnacle. The materials look (and are) beautiful, seats look great, I just don't see myself getting past the dashboard.

Doesn't deter me from my current consideration of a new W222 at all.

The exterior looks like a mid-cycle refresh to me!!

I'm sure the quality of the interior is to-notch but I can't swallow the dashboard with the floating tesla iPad that may start seeks overtime.
I personally hate touch screens and its way too low and will cause a distraction while driving.

Its very clear that MB targeting China Market!

I think the headlight clusters should be a bit larger, more imposing. This is one of the reasons people will confuse with E and next gen C.

As I stated prior, there really is no dashboard anymore. Tablets anything but stylish or elegant.

Still a magnificent machine. Will drive unlike anything on the road. I wouldn't rule it out, but definitely not the first few years. I cant imagine the gremlins on all that tech.
