I wonder how it handles compared to the other flagships. I believe the 7 and a8 were the best handling

The handling must be good because the S outsells both the 7 series and A8 by a considerable margin.

The Corolla must handle amazingly using the same logic!!!

Also, there has never been a moose test on the latest A8, but that's besides the point. A6/7 yes, A8, no.

Wouldn't it partially depend on the drivers skill level?

I think the fact that the S class has and continues to significantly outsell both the 7 series and the A8 speaks volumes.

Oh for sure. I'm always for buying a car that I see on the road 8 times a day /troll. The logic is actually quite...weird for me to comprehend to be totally honest. I buy flagship cars to have one off cars that are rare to see in public. It's one reason I chose not to buy the S. But anyway, to each their own, totally OK to disagree.

On another note, this was *hilarious* to watch. I think we can set aside our differences to laugh...

I agree it's ok to disagree but I'm just not a fan of imitations (7 series, A8).I prefer the real thing (S class). I totally agree with Gotlieb Daimler, "the best or nothing".

Gotta love it when slow sales are being spun as some type of exclusivity or a bonus.

It's what makes my Ghost such a desired item. Anyway, back to Moose test discussions please!

A Ghost is priced to be exclusive, production is limited, none of these things apply to an A8. The A8 just doesn't sell.

That is not a good test driver. On the last set of cones where the S plows the whole line you can clearly see he is still steering into the turn and not back onto the road.

I am now confident that if I see a moose on the road down here in Florida, I will be able to steer around it in style!

Agreed. Neither the A8 or 7 series sell in the numbers that the S class sells in.

The S class sets the benchmark that the rest of the automotive world gets in line behind it. This is why the S class is such a big deal. It's the standard and everyone knows it's the standard.

Not me, just pointing out that the A8 doesn't. Prepping for the "sedans don't sell" excuse now?

Not at all, + kudos to the best car in the World, the S class. No doubt I agree w/ previous gens, but if you don't see the cost cutting in the present gen S class, well, then I don't know what the point of this is.

But hey, it's an online forum. The S is the best bestie bestest car in the whole World!

Mercedes has been cost cutting for years, that's very clear. What I don't see is where the car is terribly or fatally compromised because of it. I'm not as cheery about the car as you try to make everyone out to be.
