I thought the base Burmester was underwhelming...
Until i tried the "Personal Sound Profile". The base Burmester has came to life compared to using the standard equalizer. I can hear every detail. The bass and treble is more pronounced but not overpowering. Possibly the best sounding "base" system I've had.

Yep….I can imagine going the full length of the ownership just adjusting the standard equalizer (bass, treble, mid) settings. I say skip it and go directly to “personal sound profile.” The standard Burmester then becomes a different system. Very impressive to me.

TOTALLY AGREE!! If you have the 4D Burmester, setting up the “personal sound profile” is the optimal way to go! So many granular adjustments to the various sound settings. Just make sure you have enough time set aside to perfectly adjust. ENJOY!

i bumped the crap out of my base burmester and the sound is just crazy for base. The 4D has sounds piped thru the seats which reminds of me my old R8; super cool

I know, I know, a bit gimmicky; but if you don’t like it then set it to zero like wifey Many many more features to the 4D!
Question: I’m afraid to crank up the volume too high; can the speakers be “blown” like typical speakers? Or do you think sound systems have become advanced enough where they would cut off be teaching such levels? Would hate to blow these super expensive speakers!!!

Each of the four seats has 2 exciters that are independently controlled. Honestly, I can’t crank hire than 7 (out of 10). Wife hates it so hers set at 0. Kids love it and they set their seats at 10! LOL

I’m sure most systems would dial down when increasing volume. But how about when the sound suddenly goes from 0 to 100% suddenly? I think some of us have inadvertently experienced that at one time or another, like when you’re not sure why no sound is coming out and start fiddling with buttons and volume (especially ones where there isn’t a physical dial to notice how much) then all of a sudden shi*ttttttt.
