Ambient Lighting Warning Support Inoperative

I’ve been getting this warning every time I start the car. I do have the ambient lighting package and have tried clicking the lock button on the key twice and resetting it but it did nothing. Any help would be really appreciated.

It went away for me for a day or two but now comes back all the time. There must be a solution to permanently get rid of it. Can’t imagine we are the only ones dealing with this. Hopefully help is out there.

If mine comes back I'll take it in for diagnosis.

I just hope there's not a part that needs to be replaced. I know someone that had lighting issues in a brand new gt and they had to drive a loaner for a month until the part came in.

Still happening with mine, really wondering if this is just on mine and not a more widespread issue.

Temporary remedy: lock/unlock vehicle to reset the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1) make sure that all the doors are shut. Reference attached bulletin.

Hello, did you fixed it? If yes, how? I know that some dealers just turning off this feature and awaiting updates from MBUSA.

Nope, My dealer has not been able to resolve this issue yet and the warning is still popping up. I’m hoping someone/somewhere figures this one out. I will keep everyone posted on mine and if a solution becomes available.

That's a fix! Thank you!
If you have same problem just print it and bring it in your dealership.

A software update is needed. That was the first of many ongoing probems with my S, the dealership was able to address that particular issue.

I see you have larger aftermarket wheels and yours is fixed.

at first, they said there were no stored codes, and of course the message did not come on at dealer. Anyways, I’m scheduled for next Friday to go to another dealer and have them look at it.

Yeah, that was the answer I got to my complaints about check engine light and inoperable assistance systems messages. "No codes found, no issues observed, gfy".

Too many dealers are strict on modifications. I would've told them to explain how wheels would cause this problem.

Wheels are blocking ambient light sensors? This should be nominated for the stupidest bull**** of the year award.

Forgot to update: went back to dealer a couple weeks ago and spoke with the Service Manager. He had the shop foreman look at my car and it was determined some LED strips on driver side had to be replaced. All good now.

Im surprised they didn’t claim you drove over them with your aftermarket tires!
